  1. can anyone tell how to install racks on the roof. I want to install surf racks on the roof. is the roof plywood or metal? do I need to find a stud? she is a 1988 seabreeze
  2. brightside marine paint. i bought it at west marine. also rustoleum makes one called top side
  3. pepboys sells striping. it was 12 dollars a roll and took two rolls. it came out great
  4. whoever wants to paint your rv i can break it down step by step i first got price quotes from pros who ranged from 4500 to the lowest quote was 2300 without a stripe. I said no way. I bought my rv for 4500 and it was in good running condition but needed tlc.on the outside. the inside is in pretty good shape. everything works. it does need some work but I decided to do the outside first after someone thought we were a homeless family. yes we were not too clean because we went on a 10 day road trip and were swimming and hiking the whole time so I could see how he would think that lol. the stripe was painted on not a decal. so i sanded that off. I only sanded the stripe until it was smooth. I did not sand it 100 percent off. as long as the edges are level with the fiberglass you will not see the outline of the stripe, the paint covered it up nice.. i pulled off all the old trim. the old trim was black and cracked and made the rv look really bad. the paint i used was from west marine. it is called brightside one part polyuerithan with teflon. the paint was thin like milk so i did not have to add paint thinner. the trick is to use a foam roller and apply thin coats if you apply it too thick it does not dry right and caused dripping. i know this because i painted my 28ft sportsfisher years ago and learned all the tricks. my rv took 3 coats but could have used a 4th i think. it took one gallon of paint. the gallon cost 120 dollars. i did try a test spot on an oil based paint from home depot that is a lot cheaper and I think would turn out really nice if you don't want to use the marine paint. the home depot paint was an oil based high gloss white from rustoleum. i taped off the windows and sprayed the metal window frames with rustoleum black gloss spraypaint. again light coats so it doesnt drip. if you have the option to paint your window frames do it! it makes your rv look new. someone thought I replaced the windows with new ones the trim I got from camping world. it is the 1 inch standard. the cost is around 8 dollars and it took 2 rolls. it comes in 23ft rolls. the bumper i sanded and used the same spray paint that i did for the windows. the cab i have not decided how to tackle that. maybe earl shive ?? any suggestions I bought the black stripe at pepboys. it comes in rolls and cost 12 dollars a roll. it took two rolls and went on very easy and looks great
  5. I used a fine foam roller and high grade marine paint made for fiberglass boats. It is expensive paint but it comes out smooth and glossy
  6. I bought this 1988 toyota seabreeze a few months ago. My plan is to fix her up. I took my family to the grand canyon and sedona last month and we had a blast. She drove great. We did look like a family who lived on the road though. someone tried to give us money. when we got back I decided to start and fix her up. I painted the outside but have not done the cab yet.
