  1. When we took mine to the dealer there was no leakage I could find anywhere. The mechanic replaced the thermostat and cover, said he found a leak. As I had asked to see all the old parts he showed me the cover and it had a small crack at one of the bolt studs. Got the antifreeze flushed, had the right stuff in it but I was starting from scratch, no maintence records. Wonder if someone had overtightened it before, something to take a good look at.
  2. If the wire even comes close to overheating it's way too much the wrong size and overfused.
  3. Yes I use it often, depends on the road and how fast I'm going, and the weight I'm packing. I would rather have the rear end ratio JD has, it will make the od MUCH more usefull. Maybe next year...
  4. "That's because most microwaves operating on 50 percent power switch off and on between 100 percent and 0 percent power to achieve that 50 percent average. Instead, the inverter tech maintains the low power level throughout the cooking process. Supposedly, this makes all the difference." My Onan runs the original microwave fine as well as the AC and will run both (at sea level or close) at the same time, when it draws max the microwave pulls twice the amps as the AC...
  5. The Deet products I've tried all say not to let it get on plastics, some painted surfaces, or vinyl surfaces. DEET is an effective solvent, and may dissolve some plastics, rayon, spandex, other synthetic fabrics, and painted or varnished surfaces including nail polish. This is from, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DEET.
  6. I've been using this, http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G12310-PlastX-Plastic-Cleaner/dp/B0000AY3SR , for a while with good results. On my amazon search for the url I found this, http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-Mirror-Glaze-Plastic-Polish/dp/B0000AXMD2/ref=pd_sim_263_3/192-3149223-3739567?ie=UTF8&refRID=17Q03K17Z091S5EHRWJQ may be better ???
  7. Might be adjustment of the accelerator pump. It puts out a squirt of gas into intake when the throttle is opened a lot or fast.
  8. I just purchased a 1991 21ft Mini Warrior, and it was very unstable in windy conditions on our maiden trip. I would like to duplicate your lift solution, and I would like to have model numbers/sizes of the helper, and leaf springs. Anything else you recommend would be appreciated. Ours was like that on the trip home totally empty. After new suspension, steering, front end bushings, shocks, steering dampener, tires and alignments drives great. I was forced to run it in windy conditions on the Grapevine, I-5, and 580. It's not a problem. Have yours checked out, probably needs the same work.
  9. Great, now drain plug sensor for the oil??? we already know how to add a tach.
  10. Pretty but 7700 lbs and a 2.2 L motor, seems to have only one bed ? I'll keep the Toy.
  11. I only heat mine up ocassionaly to test it, like to keep everything working. Was thinking it's 6 gal of extra white water. But if you run the white tank down will the pump push that last 6 gal out ? seems to me it won't. Anyone ever tried this???
  12. I've run both AC's when it's real hot on I-5 using the Onan microlite. A real advantage with having a RV generator.
  13. Can't one tell the fill level of the tank by weighing it??? seems to me someone posted the empty and full tank weight a while back.
  14. Just went out to look at my '91 (which is a V6). When we took it to the toyota dealer among the many parts replaced was the fan clutch. That fan ring had some nicks and gouges in it , the new one which looks exactly like the one in your picture does not. No cracks in the fan shroud, thank goodness PS: did the wrong thermostat get installed, another thing I've seen is on some cars you can put the thermostat in backwards, it doesn't work well like that. Another thought, the mechanic said it's hard to "burp" the cooling system, ie remove all the air from the cooling system. It will not cool properly until that is done. On these boards someone has posted how to do that.
  15. Some say experience is the best teacher. But some people just never seem to get good at what they do, no matter what. In several different careers I've run into some like that. Even if you try to gently train them they just will never get it.
  16. 2,3--look at the side of the guage panel, some have a trimpot to adjust the reading. If so try to adjust it with a full tank. They get less acurate as the tank level drops. 6--I run 48# front and 57# rear many different opinions on this. 7-- You need to get a tire gauge for duals, has 2 inlets, one straight the other is angled on the side. You will also need to get a similar tool to add air, it's called an air chuck. 8-- Mine came with a label that said 20 # min, 90 # Max, you may wish to run one side higher to balance the rig out. Mine has an Onan genset and the white tank both on the drivers side so I run the left side higher.
  17. I would put a sensor coming out of the tranny and put in a switch so I could tell both temps. I think someone here has done this and posted their temps??? , a while ago.
  18. Oh, wish I had known that, I thought I heard they were not avaiable. I have done over mine twice as I didn't get all the rust out the first time. Do they fit the newer Dolphins exactly , so you can use the original door mounting brackets??
  19. About the same as ethanol I guess. Don't the rock crawlers have fuel injection?? seems that would work on any hill?
  20. When I replaced my mirrors they had everything except the U shaped tubing and the straight arm braces. The dimensions of those that they had did not match my 91 Dolphin. Had to sand prime and paint after some straightening, they make a spray can clear coat and I really liked the look of the finished arms. PS: use stainless steel mounting washers, nuts& bolts, no more rusting.
  21. Wow , I never thought about that before, will check ours for cracks. Easy to repair if necessary, but not with tape.
  22. Leaving the bags inflated low will not be kind to your leaf springs, ours say 20# min and 90# max. I rest it at 90, running is lower depends on load.
  23. A while ago Costco had a large dual fuel generator, gas and propane. The output when running propane was reduced a fair amount. Is there less energy in the propane???
  24. We took ours to Les Schwab for all the shocks, bushings, steering dampener, alignment, etc, at the same time and WOW what a difference. They used the KYB heavy duty units.
