Ihave same outer bolt pattern on my minimax 1978 bolted rims but my rims look totly differant my rims are very unusial bolt on same patern but look not at all like yours the Les Shaeb guy said he had no idea what myn where they almost look like tractor rims soory no pict On myn they bolt on to the standerd 5 lug toyota rim i would say you do have the old 5 lug axle
  2. This happend to us on a 1986 but it was a four wheel drive the shop put the wrong wheel bearings in the front the brakes would go to the flor going forward and were better backing up the to o big berings were allowing the disc on both sides to flot andmove side to side took a while to find it
  3. My son helped us get our new 3 way norcold on line out of Clafornia from american Rv . com as it is the smallest model they make and that is the only size that fits the old minimax it came by u p s he says the shelves are more flexable then his Dometic of the same size cost 650 dollers

TerrieO sorry to learn of your big mess sorry i live too far away to help in process of replacing car tires prev oner put on myself i hope you get things all back together out here regarding tow truckts we have what are known as tilt bed tow trucks they winch on thetilt flat bed and can element a lot of damage to your veicele soory cant spell
  6. you can not be safe enough with propane a flaring tool for copper tube is a must i own one they are easy to use and cost about Twenty dollors a great tool to have in your box old forge is a good brand I would never never use compression fittings under any circumstance t iten the flare fittings very tite

TO isabug and others you can get multi car discounts and WAiter if you can its a good thing to have comp if you can get it covers fire theft vandelisum and window replacement i have the grange out of Seattle full coverage on car truck and motrhome moter home is a 1978 fully covered up to a value of 4000 dollers out in washington state i cary 100,ooo 300,000 uninshered underinshered bodly injury 25000 to50000 is considerd to be under insured not enough coverge Also in winter i only keep comp on the moter home as i dont run it out on the road spring i just tell them to puton the rest so we can use it Check and see if they offer agreed value that is what Grange offers
  10. Iwould say shocks for 20 dollers ea would be at the low end of shocks i paid 35 a pr at car quest for heavy duty shocks gas filled for my 1988 toyota 4wd pu but they are very stiff
  11. Welcome i dont know any info on the mallerd there are other orphin makes on here i and Johnny Ra wcon have the only 2 minimax known to ex estt maker unknown no info at all i would hope it has the full floting one ton rear axle
  12. Yes the did tell me i would have to turn it of some times on cool nights but in my case testing at Aubreys Rv indecated a problem as well in acret thermostat allway down it still ran likewide open

Welcome to this group i have a 1978 minimax moter home and an 1988 4 wd xtra cab 22re my third toyota pickup 15 to 17 about on the old 20 r 4 speed and yes i dont use anthing on the head but a factory head gasket i had a mechinc who worked in many local shops before he went to work in the toyota dealer here he said the felpro headgasket would last about 2 years the head blu on my toyota wagen he said i bet when you get the head off it will be a felpro indeed it was they claim no retorkeing ballony and the gasket looked cheap made i put on a factory gasket retorked at 1000 miles and drove it for 200 000 miles in 15 years no more problem and as for that setup you have i would run it myself the 20r is only about 96 horse i have a webber carb

I just had to have the thermostat replaced in my new norcold under warenty the problem was the gas thermostat they kept it for a week and tested the full range of operation both gas and eletric eletric was ok but i had the same problem but on the gas side it froze everything blue a can of pop all over inside and blu the door open can look like gun shot wide open aubreys rv in yakima wa state you need an r v applince person or r v shop

Welcome what all are you meaning and yes the coach battery should recieve a charge when the engine is running also when you plug in to shore power the convertor puts out 12 volts the water pump the furnec and the lights are 12 volt and some friges can run on 12 volt do not run a frige on 12 volt unless the enguine is running they drain the batt quick with frige on gas you can get a while just lights and pump the furnec draws a little more three cold nights i might run my small generator say 3 to 4 hours make shure you get the best rv deep cycle you can get do not use a car battery for the coach

A friend of myn got and old junk pickup camper free he needed a frige the frige was good and others of us got good usable stuff i have an all brass sink fawect rebuilt for two dollors of o rings i just spent 650 for a new norcold did not like price but love that frig if it is junk take door off might help myn small so no problem in or out
  17. I carry a spare tank under a table bench seat same as Waiter use for small bbq and two burner stovei can hook up also for ext stay to rv

T HE OTHER GASKETS are ok but i personly would not use a FelPRO head Gasket unless they fixed there head gasket problem of a few years back with There permer tork so called never needs retorkeing they would last 2 years or so i am not making this up atoyota mec friend worked in an independt shoup Before he worked at the toyota dealer the head blue on my toyota wagen for no reason he said when you get the head off i bet it is a felpro it was side by side the head gaskets where not the same quality and the factory gasket required retorqing at 1ooo miles i oned it 15 years never had another problem i have owned six toyotas no1 and no 4 were filled with antifreze i had a shop check the head perfect cond
  19. If you dont see obvios burnt or break use oms meter continuity or not
  20. Stock that is asingle roller chain the 20 r is a double roller like he said a good strait foward eng check that head for corrsion problems take the valve cover off you can see the chain right there

Ihave done a head gasket on the older 20 r i would drain the oil asap bad oil ie antifreze will destroy the rod and main berings i have seen the damage on another eng sorry i dont know that moter i know the 22r or 22re and the 20 r on those start dist no 1 top dead center watch for corosion around water holes on aluminom head people dont change colent head can be all ate up and gascket ok guy gave me a 20r all collent gone in pan head all ate up water holes look like mushrooms no seal on cyl sethers the older moters do not have cam berings run right on the head i dont about that one make sure use toyota head gasket on the 20r felpro brand always blow 2 years! toyota mec told that what my problem was i tore of shure was a felpro not made the same

  23. Gdp That low miles i could not add vise at 100 ooo plus i run 20 w 50 in all high miles 4 banger havefor 40 years

  24. Thanks Bob somtimes i still take along a bbq tank for camp stove and small bbq and the guage is nice to have i got a third tank full of propane but gave to a lady for her dolphin
