  1. Thanks both, should have been clear that the wipers still don’t work after fuse was replaced and the wire was removed from the solenoid. And of course have been using a multimeter to test. and thanks for the updated link. Frustrating that the wiring diagram/other posts on this subject sent me in the other direction on what solenoid to buy. Clearly I’m unfamiliar with where else to pull a switch wire from the alternator but I will keep looking.
  2. Looking for help, and interested in if anyone else has had the same issue. I have an ‘89 itasca, and after the truck battery died a few times we realized the PO had removed the solenoid and wired the truck battery directly to the coach battery. I bought a replacement solenoid based on some posts here/in the Facebook group identifying which one I needed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0797WZBD9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title We had a windshield wiper splice existing under the hood, so we used that (as per the wiring diagram) to attach to the perpendicular node on the solenoid. The notes on the wiring diagram are super hard to read, so I am assuming that the instruction is to splice the windshield wiper wire as the switch, but am not 100% sure. https://www.winnebago.com/Files/Files/Winnebago/Resources/Diagram/1990/084682.pdf When we turning the engine on, the windshield wiper fuse was blown, and the solenoid didn’t have voltage to the coach battery side. We replaced the windshield wiper fuse and the wipers still aren’t working, and no solenoid voltage. Anyone know where we went wrong, or have suggestions? I’ve have a hard time tracking down other itasca examples, and didn’t have existing wiring to copy so want to make sure I am approaching this correctly.
  3. Hi there, I have a 1989 Toyota itasca, and while recharging the battery I noticed there was a belt just… hanging out. Pics attached. The book was no help figuring out what the belt diagram was. Anyone know what this is? We aren’t sure if an old belt was just left in the truck, or if there was a belt that broke. It drove fine 2 months ago before we parked it for some repairs.
  4. Hi all- we are working to reconfigure our 1990 Itasca spirit interior. I believe the original owner did some custom work himself, because instead of the bench seats we have a couch. I don’t have a fantastic pic of it, but have attached some here. We are looking to convert back to a dinette kind of set up, and probably need to move the water pump (to the right of the water tank) in order to move the water tank out of what will be the footwell. Can you mount the water pump horizontally? Does anyone have some configuration that worked for them? We are likely also converting our electrical to new/solar gear, but will tackle that later.
  5. Just wanted to give a little update. We tore out the aluminum and have decided patching it really isn’t the best long term solution (see photos below for damage). Thankfully the metal frame in the walls blocked rot from getting to any other wood, so we feel comfortable leaving most of the walls as is. Now will just be waiting to pick up the new aluminum sheet (.024” thick, we verified by calling Winnebago yesterday that .06mm was the thickness of the original metal) that we will order from Interstate RV metal and supply in Oregon. Unfortunately they only do will call and aren’t open on weekends so we have to wait for about a week. But happy to have found a solution! I laid out the wood pieces that survived so that we have a pattern, will work on that in the meantime!
  6. Thanks all for the responses - I have reached out to several retailers and have either found that it will be $450 to have a single sheet shipped to me, or that they do not take orders for only one sheet. I may be attempting a patching job, will report back!
  7. Well, the time has come to patch the over cab leak on my new to me 1990 itasca spirit. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of corrosion on the aluminum on the “floor” part of the over cab bed. Any tips on patching it? Or do I need to replace the aluminum sheet completely? If so, anyone know what material is best for replacement? what you see here is a small hole near the windshield(unpatched) Abd then the previous owners silicone patch job.
