  1. Hey guys! for starters the question is about a 1987 Odyssey. This may sound like a dumb question, but the 120V outlets don't work in the cabin without shore power being plugged in. I kind of thought this was normal until I was reading about the fridge being able to use battery power. Does the fridge have a special circuit that will allow power to be pulled from the inverter? (I dont have a level surface for the camper to try it out at the moment) does this have something to do with the battery isolator, which from the looks of it needs replaced on my rig, or is my inverter not working? Thanks all! Davis
  2. I could try to get a picture of the roof, but It's snowing now as it has been off and on since we tarped it. To kind of describe what it looks like, you can see where the metal support pieces run laterally across the roof because they stick up a bit, and there is more or less depressions on either side (small ones but they're there). That, and, I know where the metal roof pieces run based off their position from the vent in the roof. On the roof on top of those metal pieces you can see how the sealant is just pulled apart a little bit and cracked, allowing water to seep in. its nothing more than a hairline crack that runs most of the way along one side or the other. This spring it shouldn't be too big of a deal to get it sealed up.
  3. Hey folks! I'm new to the community and the forum. I purchased an 87 Toyota Odyssey on Sunday started tearing into it to fix some problems. Turns out, the ceiling is leaking from cracks in the roof, looks like directly above the metal structure of the roof. one of the previous owners maybe thought the leaks were coming from the roof vent up there and he tore down the roof and sprayed something on the metal ceiling support pieces but they are clearly rusted. It looks a lot worse than it is, where you can see holes in the metal i think is just from someone trying to shoot staples into the wood ceiling because it's pretty solid, you can whack away at it with a screwdriver and not put holes in like that. that and the wood around is solid as well, doesn't seem compromised or rotted at all from what you can see and feel of it. I asked the previous owner about the ceiling and they said they only ever painted it and that it wasn't leaking when they had it. Just looking for advice on how to press on with the roof or what you guys have done? we're going to reseal the roof in the summer, so for right now it's wearing a tarp to stay dry. I guess I'm just concerned whether or not its worth the hassle and risk of tearing down and replacing the wood support pieces to try to negate some of the rust if it all feels solid as it is. Images of the ceiling are in the following Imgur link Thanks! https://imgur.com/a/G3JravN
