My wife and I are looking to upgrade the look of our '86 Escaper. The previous owners let the interior degrade, and neither of us loves the look of the fake woodgrain anyway. Inspecting it closely, it looks like there is a variety of surfaces - some of the drawers are actual wood, which will be easy enough to repaint, but some of them are particle board with a fake wood laminate on it, and some of the edges of the cabinets look like a hard vinyl. I'm wondering if it's enough to just sand the heck out of the fake wood laminate, or if there being little tiny bits of it left over on the particle board is going to cause the paint job to fall apart. I'd also like to know if anyone has successfully painted the vinyl edging. One more thing we'd like to change is the countertops - right now they're a basic light brown, made out of the material that I've seen in countless photos on here. I don't know the actual name of the product. Has anyone had success with either painting or somehow resurfacing these countertops? They look like they're made out of some kind of material that resists stains, and I'm wondering if that means it will resist alteration of any kind. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for something to replace the current LED bulbs that I have for my 1986 Escaper. They're the standard cheap option and they work well, but in my opinion the color of the light they give out is so intensely white and bright it makes me feel like I'm about to have surgery done on me. Preliminary research online shows some pretty insane price variation for anything that's outside of the 'Nurse, restrain the patient' style of bulb. Wondering if anyone has found an affordable and attractive option.

I'll have to take pics of the window this weekend - this particular one is a slider on the passenger side of the bunk over the cab, but most of the windows have the problem, sliders and non-sliders. Have you heard of someone successfully improvising a replacement? If so, do you know what they used? The functionality of the windows as they are now is actually fine, but the look is just a real bummer. Hoping to clean things up in a way that doesn't damage the function of the window.

Hi - hoping someone can help me out here. I'm looking to find the correct window gasketing for the exterior of my 1986 Escaper. Mine is shrinking/cracking, which seems to be a common problem. Below I've included a side view of the gasket that's been pulled out of the window. Thanks in advance! Toby
