  1. I am getting annoyed by the 31" radio antenna rubbing against the front overhead wall and looking for a replacement for a shorter antenna mast. Bought one from Amazon that is advertised to fit, but it doesn't. If anyone has successfully replaced their radio antenna with a short one, please share the link of where you bought it. Thanks in advance!
  2. I replaced the tiny bathroom fan with Heng's Vortex II fan. Not as low cost as computer fans, but much cheaper alternative than a Fantastic or Maxxair fan. A buddy has it on its travel trailer and introduced me to it. https://www.amazon.com/Hengs-Industries-90046CR-Replacement-501-1099/dp/B00DPJ3RDA/ref=asc_df_B00DPJ3RDA/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312089957955&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7665009931220081125&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031212&hvtargid=pla-570924433398&psc=1
  3. Anyone has experience with Raptor engines? http://raptorengines.com/product-category/toyota-engines/
  4. Thanks for the feedback. It looks like my options are either finding a good used one or a new one. I doubt that the new cover will last 20 years, as things aren't as well made as they were used to.
  5. Google search results show new plastic covers or shrouds for rooftop ac units run about $130 which seems pretty pricy for a piece of plastic. Curious to see what folks have done to repair or replace their AC covers.
  6. Not sure what kind of converter you have, but the installation was pretty straight forward for me. As far as wiring, it was just matter of disconnecting from and reconnecting to terminals, I wouldn't call it re-wiring. Here's the link to owner's manual that includes the installation manual: https://www.progressivedyn.com/wp-content/uploads/Support/manuals/PD4600-110197F-owners-manual.pdf
  7. It's been a couple of weeks since I installed the the new PD converter. I have not heard or seen the converter fans operating. For those who have experience with PD converters, is this normal?
  8. I saw that too, but then I am not sure if the end would transition well to the outer trim. I am also considering this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Magic-White-Bathtubs-and-Walls-Bathtub-Sealer-Trim/1000192421
  9. Thanks Linda. Do you mean something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Insert-Options-Length-Aluminum-Pieces/dp/B081VVXWJR/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=RV+Roof+Edge+Molding&qid=1608303718&sr=8-2
  10. I am trying to replace the trim/molding/seal between the front side of the coach and the underside of the overhead. It's the disintegrated plastic trim in the photo. Any ideas of where I might find this part and how to replace it?
  11. On my 92 Warrior, the bottom bolt mounts on the KYBs are too narrow and the bolts barely engage. Hope you don't have this issue. I had to get new longer bolts and washers to compensate for the shorter mounts.
  12. Thank you all for the feedback. Finally bit the bullet and shelled out the extra $$ to order a replacement converter with smart charger, Progressive Dynamics PD4635.
  13. You will have more room for a grinder to cut the bumpstop if you remove the wheels. I was also replacing shocks and leaf spring bushings, so with the leaf spring shackle off, the springs drop and gave me room that is needed to install the new air bag assembly. If I remember, on one side, the shock was in the way of drilling in in the new upper hole into the frame for the upper bracket.
  14. LED bulbs were the first upgrade we did to the RV. Longest we will ever boondock is probably 6-7 days. We plan to add solar panels someday. From reading up on the modern converters, some models come with new DC fuse boards with filtered terminals for "cleaner" current. Are these good enough for charging phones and ipads?
  15. I'm a newbie here since late July when I purchased my Toyhome. When I searched this website for a specific issue, I always found Derek's past posts insightful. My prayers go out to Derek.
  16. Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. Been reading up on the converter upgrade option. Cost more than what I budget for this project, but seems like the best option. The pulsetech battery maintainer is interesting, and seems like a reasonable cheaper alternative, but the small draw when not being charged could be an issue when boondocking.
  17. The converter is Magnetek Series 6300A Model 6332. From reading other posts, it sounds like old converters could boil the water in the battery and damage it? Or maybe this is not an issue with my converter model? I'll be installing a new coach battery and wants it to last as long as possible.
  18. Hello all! Looking for advice/tips on installing a battery disconnect switch for the coach battery. The purpose is to charge the battery through a separate battery charger/maintainer/desulphator rather than through the converter. For those who have installed one, if you can share the photos of your setup, that would be much appreciated.
  19. Bringing back an old thread... I am also curious. I don't have an oven, but a microwave, and having difficulty getting it out. We would like to repurpose the space for more storage.
  20. HI Johnnie, were you able to complete this repair? The outside rubber seal on my front windows has rotted, and this replacement is probably next on my repair list.
  21. I have parts for the Dometic fridge from my toyhome Winnebago, except for the door, bottom support and the mounting hardware. It's a 2 way, I think model 2410. The cooling unit in the back got hot but the fridge wasn't cooling before I took it apart. The door and bottom support were reinstalled back in my rv. Make an offer, but must take all parts as I'm trying to clear up space. Local pickup only in Southern California, no shipping.
  22. Thanks for the reply. I had my wife pushed down on the power steering assembly and that gave just enough slack.
  23. Anyone has any tip on installing the v-belt for the power steering/crankshaft/water pump pulleys on a 3VZE engine? The PS pulley adjuster bolt doesn't seem to give enough slack to install the new belt on the pulleys. The new belt is stock Toyota. The other 2 drive belts went on fine. Thanks in advance!
