  4. Looks like winter is over early here on the coast of Orygone. Just waiting for the rain to stop. I may get a trip together soon for Loeb State Park on the Chetco River near Brookings. They're open year round. We had a great time there last summer. I met two Toyhomers there. That would be close for you Cal people.

Looks like winter is over in deed, we have been pruning the fruit trees. A get together on the Oregon coast would be great. Just got home from a week get away , drove to Eugene-Corvalis-then coast road to Bandon to home, Grants pass. Went past you and didn't even know it. I'm all for a get-together in Brookings or ?

  5. Well I can see that a few of you will not believe me when I say we-my wife & I get 19.7MPG average on our 84 dolphin 4cyl 4speed. Our top speed is 50-53 mph up or down hills. That mileage average is taken on 1 to 3 thousand mile trips. This past summer we did a 420 mile trip to lake Paulina-eastern Oregon, we live in Grants pass so there was many hills to climb, GOT 16.6mpg pulling a 1300# boat. Did have to drop down to 30mph up a couple of hills. Some times we drop down to 16.5 and then up to 22, depends on the terain. Dont expect good numbers on 55mph or higher. We run 55 to 60# in the tires. The moho has 105,000 miles on it, new clutch at 95,000, just put a new atwood 8012 heater in, does not have the standing piolet, dont know if I will like that, with the standing piolet you have a little heat comming out all of the time. Darrel

  6. I forgot to mention a couple of things, MAKE SURE that your rig IS mosquito proof. We had two places that they got in and it was miserable. Spray deet around the entrance door it cuts down on the amount of those blood sucking critters entering. Darrel

  7. Has anyone taken the 4 cylinder, dolphin, 1986, up the alcan (alaska highway). What do you think about that idea.

We ,my wife and I, took a trip to Yellowknife, NWY, Canada last summer, 2008, 4 months on the road 8300 miles, no problems at all. Drove 1600 miles on gravel roads, again no problems. I can't immagin you having worse road conditions than we had. We are planning a trip to Home, ak in 2010 summer. We drive a 84 dolphin 4cyl 4 speed, it now has 106,000 miles on it. I would recomend having new to near new tires. Expect to pay 65 to 100 dollars for a oil change. We got 19.4mpg. Darrel

  8. i have the front brakes apart am going to put new front wheel bearings and seals in. toy has 105,400 mles on original brakes, question is -where do i get good quality brake pads. went to toyota and was told the pads they have probable wont last as long. my original pads still have a lot of live but would like to start anew, then wont have to tear apart and clean in a couple of years. any thoughs would be appreciated. Darrel
