  1. I'm thinking the same thing Jeff, gonna get underneath it tonight and investigate.
  2. Just swapped engines in my 85 Dolphin, put in a 22RE out of an 89 pickup that was supposedly been rebuilt 25k miles ago. Runs good and cool but notice a mild knock at lower RPM's on acceleration, once at a higher RPM it foes away. It's coming from the rear passenger side towards the top I think. Don't have a stethoscope to pinpoint. Thought maybe I had the valve cover to tight so loosened the nuts up and it didn't make a difference. Even swapped valve covers in case the original was warped in some way, still no difference. Timing chain and guides look fine. Valves are all adjusted to factory specs, I'm at a loss. I have attached a short video so any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks IMG_0623.MOV
  3. Does it look like this one ? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K6L79K2/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  4. Purchased a 1985 Dolphin and am super excited to do some updating to it. Allot of new things fridge, solar panel, inverter plus allot more already installed. 22RE auto with 128000 on the clock. Uses some oil so probably going to do a rebuild. A little rust on the front fenders but otherwise pretty clean. I have been reading allot on this site and looks like a great bunch with allot of knowledge. Will probably be asking allot of rookie questions in the near future.
  5. Looked at this tonight, hooked it up to shore power and looked at fuses and breakers and they all looked good. Some lights worked, but the rooftop a/c wouldn't work along with some of the outlets. I am a total rookie to RV's, worked on many cars but this is all new. Where would the water heater be located, I could not find it and it looks like with the plumbing the hot side pipes have been disconnected ?
  6. Thanks Bob, I will be back around it on Saturday morning and give this a try. The owner did state that he replaced the house battery, but I have no idea with what kind. All the lights with the cab part work, headlights, clearance lights, dash lights etc, The A/C, lights, and outlets in the camper area do not work.
  7. Hello all, new member who is recently retired and looking for a Toyota motor home. There is an 88 Toyota Winnebago for sale fairly close to me, 140k on the clock. 22RE auto. Older couple who took it to Florida every winter, been parked inside when not in use. Seems to be pretty tight with no apparent water damage. It runs great with all new tires. Before they replaced the tires they had a blowout on one of the rears and ever since then none of the electrical stuff works in the camper. Wondering if there are some wires back there that might have got damaged or maybe a breaker somewhere ? Can't think it would be anything serious with everything working and then all of a sudden not working ? Any idea's anyone ? I can pick it up fairly cheap and was hoping to get some opinions on here as there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here. Thanks in advance.
