  1. Here is the link to the current Craigslist posting: https://stlouis.craigslist.org/rvs/d/alhambra-re-auto-toyota-dolphin/7369220050.html
  2. Yeah it's got the 6 lug rear end. Thought there was enough info on there to attract some one interested in picking up this vehicle and start the conversation. Does anyone know why the Classified page isn't working?
  3. Hey there everybody. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided I no longer have time, space or money for this project of mine. I tried to post in the for sale section but for some reason it is coming back as a dead link... We bought a 1984 Toyota Dolphin 21' from a guy in Grand Junction, CO in the dead of night. Turns out it was a salvage title and we have spent the last two years patching it up while living in it and traveling. We turned 100,000 over on the odometer on this 22RE Automatic (4 speed with an overdrive). We actually got an insurance payout for some damage done to the camper by a distracted motorist and the estimate at the time for value was $7500. We took that money and bought several appliances fo the camper and like I said.....heavy heart, don't really want to let it go. However, it really would be best for someone who wants to replace the interior and possibly do a whole refurb on the outside as well. It runs and drives and we just took it from Washington to Illinois through Yellowstone and Badlands and it does just fine. We all know how fast they go. This one has a full size spare and all new Hankook Vantra LT tires. Helper springs on the rear leaves, new muffler, new black tank, solar on the roof, inverter in the closet, 3 way fridge that works (not original equipment), Dometic toilet with ceramic bowl, water system that works (not hooked up, needs a bit of hose), two maxxfans with rain guards....led lights, bluetooth stereo for the cab and new driver/passenger seats we got out of a Nissan Pathfinder (much nicer than stock). True dually rear end. Oh yeah and three 200 amp hour deep cycle batteries. We sealed the roof and it doesn't leak, like I said, we bought it salvage and patched it while living in it so it needs some attention and time. But I think we've got just over 107,000 miles on it right now so there are lots of legs left. Anybody have any interest? Currently in St Louis, MO. (The cab will need a repaint due to an unfinished project I started, it has been primed although not well)
  4. Hey so I just finished changing the oil and filter and transmission fluid because I have a new to me 1984 Dolphin 700 and I need to do all the maintenance and outer repair items. Engine is a 22RE and the transmission is an automatic. When I went to change the pan gasket, filter and fluid I looked online and could find pretty much zilch about the auto trans filter. Issue I'm having is there are two hard lines that travel over the filter so you can't just pull it down (it's a bolt on filter) and after removing a few other pieces to try and jimmy the filter out, I realized it would take way more disassembly than a simple routine fluid/filter change should involve so I did not replace the filter. Has anyone else come across this issue of not being able to replace the trans filter on their auto 22RE? Thanks.
  5. Looks sweet. Did you replace the entire light fixtures or just the bulbs to LED? Also, what model fridge was that?
  6. Check. Thank you all so much, very helpful. Hopefully no more smoking wires.
  7. So as soon as I start driving, will the house battery charge?
  8. Okay, I’ve been hesitant to test it while the truck is running, my main concern is whether or not the house battery will charge while driving. In a semi permanent boondock situation so no opportunity yet to plug in with shore power. I’ve got my voltmeter and test light.... So I hooked the house batt up and was going to let it stay hooked for a bit while I checked things inside.... Smoke! The DPOS has some janky wires spliced into the pump supply (or tank monitor maybe) that started cooking off the wire insulation 🙃. I hope I don't have to fix every wire in here.
  9. Well it’s seems like I was just being dumb and when I switched the battery wires around it stopped clicking. Really thought I had done that already.... Now i’m just trying to chase the split charging system so I can see if it’s working but not sure how to go about that with this converter in between. Previously I had a camper van with a manual switch to charge the house. Any tips or tricks?
  10. Wow, alright. Thanks for that. I have just been trying to chase whatever the PO has done because it’s definitely been added to. Luckily the new wiring is pretty obvious although several wires dip through the walls... So this soldered auto breaker probably doesn’t need to be replaced?
  11. Well I switched the leads going to the battery after reading the forums and it was still doing it. I’ll give that another try today just to be sure.
  12. Hey all, just bought an ‘84 Dolphin 700 with all of the original fixtures. 90k miles. The original power converter is installed and it looks like the PO had wired in some solar panels and may have added a solar controller, although it looks like it’s from the same era as the converter. So two batteries, one right next to the converter, seems added, and the battery box that you can access from the outside. Both were dead and when I hooked up a new battery in the outside box the converter “Click” “Pings” and the lights go dim and then brighten in ten second intervals. I’ve done some reading and I think it’s the auto reset breaker, which I have located, but it’s soldered in and riveted in place. Doesn’t seem like a replacement item so maybe this PO really fried things? Just looking for some experience since I have never RV’d before. Thanks.
