  1. Thanks SSBreeze That looks very well done. It also looks like you have a square frame extension and not a C channel like mine. The Shop did agree to install a hitch and reinforce the rear frame for $700 to $800. I have an appointment next friday 9/14/18. Here are pics of what mine looks like now. I will post what it looks like after.
  2. Thanks WME This is the one i have. but like I said it has to go in the door sideways wich puts the control panel to the left or the right with no room to access the panel or plug in the outlet when i am dry camping.
  3. WME thanks I took the measurements without modifying the box it will not fit. available space without modifying is. H14 1/2 inch X W18 inch X D 18 1/2 inch. This was one of the area's I was going to put it, but I would have to lower the box bottom and relocated the Power cord. If I modified the box it would be H 22 inch X L 23 inch X D 18 1/2. I would also have to load the and lift the gen from the bottom up. the generator dimensions H 20 inch X W 17.3 inch X L 22.75 And the gen would sit in sideways and i would not be able to plug anything in to it as i would not be able to get to the front panel. or even start it. the Generator dimensions are If there is a Inverter Gen out there that is at least 3000 running watts not surge with electric start I would replace the inverter gen I have with that one. My goal was to keep the noise down and having it in the compartment would create more noise inside not by much. Basically, the tongue weight value is a static weight value that is designed to be light enough to accommodate the dynamic effects.
  4. Thanks hunkaman I took me a bit to find it, looks great. and helps some. I have an appointment this Tuesday to have it looked at again. there was some concern as to whether the shop wanted to take on the liability of reinforcement and a hitch. I will be meeting with the owner of the shop This Tuesday to get a better assessment. they were thinking around *700 to $800 to add it if they were willing to take on the liability. Ugg. I know I have seen many out there with hitches on them to carry low wight. the problem is none seem to have a picture of how the underside looks just the completed job from the outside. The one I did see was a full tube frame on an older 80s Toyota. Mine has a C-Channel extension from the main chassis, I'm only talking about 98.5 lb generator and 5 gallons of fuel 31.5 lb and the rack I was going to go with aluminum 29 LB total weight would be 159LB To be conservative fuel in the generator straps and the ball hitch 185lb max 200LB

  6. It looks good but i dont think this will work in my situation as the frame extetion is a cframe extention. and there is only about 6 to 8 inches into the original truck frame.
  7. Hello All I need to add a Hitch to my 93 winnebago itasca spirit 21ft. I have read on here about the weakness of the frame extension. Has anybody done this beefed up the frame extension and added a hitch. I want to but a Gen and extra fuel on the back. Pictures would be most helpful. and a description of what you did. Thanks I was thinking about modifying the storage where If you had a gen it would be in there but I have a 3k gen and it wont fit without major mods.
  8. Well hello All. This is what I have discovered. There is indeed a dual 15/20 amp breaker in the converter box and the 20amp side is a direct connect to a plug in the upper cabinet. I believe this is used for a microwave. Here is what I have done. I pulled the 12v wire out of the plastic conduit in the roof after taping the romex to it. pulled it through got a bit stuck at a turn at the end. I will add a junction box on the other side of the cabinet and then tie the wires together and run back to the plug. I will mark it not to use both the ac and the microwave at the same time. not much else I can do at this point going to make it safe. I will tie up the make safe the 12v wire in the cabinet. I might add a 12v led light in the cabinet. The Romex that was connected to the plug was so short I fell much better jumping it from a new junction box to add a wee bit of length to it. I also found that the romex connected to the outlet was very lose and would have been an arcing fire hazard. "good thing". I am going to check all the other plugs as well to insure they are snug. I also noticed that the Microwave plug had the polls reversed with my tester Ugg. so that will be fixed as well.
  9. There is no EMT. there is only one hole that the Low voltage 12V wire come out of for the celling vent fan. There is a Power plug recptiple in the upper cabinit. I will need to check if this is a dedicated cir. or not It should be for the microwave which I do not have installed. If its not I will need to run a new wire from the breaker box and add a breaker in as there is one open slot on the breaker box. I will also chek the breakers. to see what amp they are. I just figured when it sais pre wired for AC there would be caped off wires. in the celling vent opening next to the low voltage conduit. but there is none.
  10. I did the only power coming out is for 12v there is a 12v fan mounted to the vent no 120v power. only small line 12v wire.
  11. Hello all. I have a 1993 Winnebago Itasca Spirit 321RB. The RV does not have roof top AC an I want to install one The manual and all the info I can find said it is pre wired for one but there is only 12v wiring to a fan in the center vent. Do I have to add 120v wire to it, if I do That's a major job. I'm pretty good, but really don't want to take it apart just to add AC anyone done this or have in site. According to the wiring diagram. it looks like it tees off from a plug junction box in the upper cabinet. But I would think this should be a direct connect to the power distribution box.
