  1. I'm just throwing out some ideas. I know everything under the sun has been suggested being dropped into these things. What about a Buick 3.8? From what I've read it has reasonable power and gas mileage for a V6. They make adapters for the bell housing so it shouldn't be too much of a pain to do the swap. Would the motor mounts line up?
  2. From what I've read the bell housing has the same bolt pattern as the 22re. But then again you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet haha. I don't have and issues with the 22re its a great little motor. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to get a little more power and fuel economy even though I am driving around a brick. I'm not looking to go 75 down the interstate I'm perfectly fine with doing my 60-65 I just wish I could pull hills a little bit better and get a little better fuel economy. It seems I'm getting around 12-14mpg maybe. Which isn't terrible considering the weight of this thing. I've also heard of a Buick 3.8 v6 swap, anyone had experience with that? Is there other transmissions that could go with the 22re aside from the stock that could improve fuel economy?
  3. Has anyone done the 2.4LT Turbo diesel swap? I was thinking about doing it in my 87 Escaper 22re auto. Assuming my research is correct all I should have to do is swap the computer and wiring harness, steam-clean the fuel tank or get another one, purge or change out the fuel lines and change the filler neck. And add and intercooler. Is it worth it in terms of power and fuel economy? Or am I just thinking too big. Is there anything else I would have to change?
  4. Would I have to remove the tank to fix that? Or just the toilet? I thought the insulation might be factory because it seems to be all along the bottom of my Escaper. Also, has anyone ever "deleted" the sink in the bathroom? It's not that great and if I took it out i would have a little bit more room to shower. How would I go about doing that?
  5. Hello all! I am new to the Toyhome world and would love to know more. I have an '87 Escaper with the rear driver's side bathroom (shower toilet combo pan). The other night the fiancé flushed the Thetford Magic IV and the handle stuck causing the toilet to fill up. I caught it before it overflowed but the blackwater tank was full so the water would not recede. When I went outside to dump the tank I noticed a lot of dripping, a whole lot actually. Thank goodness we hadn't been there long so there wasn't any blackwater actually leaking. What I am asking is, is there some sort of overflow valve? Or do I possibly have a cracked tank? I couldn't really get a good look at the top of the tank due to a heavy layer of what looked like the Goodstuff spray on floam covering the tank. Did it come from the factory like that? Or was it previous owners? Would I have to chip away and re-spray the foam if I had to replace the tank? Thank you in advance.
