Hi! This may be an obvious question for some of you but ink could use some help identifying what exactly my rv is. It’s registered as a 1983 Toyota Sunrader pop top but it’s not a pop top, it’s a tilt top, I’ve not been able to find a Sunrader that looks like mine. In addition to the tilt top difference, the area over the cab is not big enough for a bed, another thing I can’t find on a Sunrader… the bathroom (unfortunately) is not like Sunraders and is legit just a toilet, (I’d love the wet bath in sunraders, with a water heater too??? Omg dreamy) any ideas what this may be? My best guess is a ranger ez Ryder or a sandtana. Or Am I way off and it’s just a Sunrader that’s not at all common ? Any thoughts would be appreciated

More importantly, we may have misplaced the sole key to start this thing and getting a replacement key looks like it has the potential to be difficult. I read that Toyota dealerships or locksmiths should be able to do this with a blank key or even the vin. Then I’d read disappointing posts from dealership employees that said they couldn’t make keys that old , others that said they would, and even contradictions about locksmiths too. Anyone know how Incan accomplish this? Thank you!

I've seen some people remove the front sunrader windows on the cabover and fibreglass over the holes. My windows are leaky, and yes I could take them out and reseal, but I just got back from 3 weeks of camping, and I must say the windows are kind of annoying. In some camp sites there's no shade and you end up pointing the front into the sun in the evening or in the morning. Either way, it gets super hot up there! I ended up putting reflectix up against the windows and found it a lot cooler. Pretty dark, but also more private, as with lights on you can pretty much see through the old cabover curtains (those need replacing too, years of sun rot has made them easy to rip when touched).

No A/C in this little truck camper Sunrader. So windows that open are a big plus. I was thinking of maybe glassing over the front and corners, and then getting some small crank open or sliders for the sides of the cabover... that way I'd have some light and air flow while sleeping. I like the look of the cabover windows, but they're really not practical. The tiny truck camper only has 2 opening windows and the vent. More opening windows would be a big plus. I've already made a screen for the pass through window between the truck cab, and for the openings in the bed storage areas, which helps, but opening windows up top would be awesome.

Any ideas on what you would do? I won't get to this project for a long while, just considering what to do at this stage. Are there any salvage places with camper windows around in the Michigan area? I know a lot of the older campers had those tiny crank outs at the sides of the cabovers... would be nice to use that type.... crankouts can stay open in rain while sliders are an issue.

I have been to 2 different RV stores that have catalogs to find almost anything and can't find a place to get a lens cover that fits this. I also have the same problem with the lens covers for the little square lights on the inside of the RV as well.. none of his fit because they need to have 2 nitches or grooves in them and none seem to be like mine. Is there some place that is easier to go for finding parts for these things? I am really curious to know how much it would cost after purchasing to get it shipped, delivered to a port of call, namely Long Beach, Ca. Does anyone here have experience with this task?

Hello everyone. I'm just starting to plan my first year in a van and am at the very beginning of this adventure and have looked online at many campers. I found a 1990 Toyota Dolphin for a reasonable price and am considering purchasing it for my first try at this life. In my research I have discovered that the most common problem with this 3.0 liter V6 engine is a failed head gasket. There was a recall and when I get the VIN I will be searching to see if this was done. I've also found that there are valve problems starting around 80-110K miles where the valves become "tight" and need to be adjusted back to factory specs. If this is not done it leads to valve burning and expensive engine repair. This is a new finding for me and I was wondering if there are RV'ers here who have this model (or any one with this particular engine) and can share any insights. This one I'm looking at has 120,000 miles so it's there. Thanks for your help.

	Hi,

	It's that possible that a engine from 1995 T100 will fit directly (without any modifications) in a 1990 T100? The engine in '95 T100 it's a 5vze.

I'm thinking how to keep my Warrior alive for next 20-30 years, and maybe pass it to my kids too🙂. From my understanding the biggest issue will be te engine. So I found this 1995 T100 that could be a good donor.

I’m home now for a little while and wanting to move it to a new spot in the yard that’s more protected from the elements so I can possibly try fixing it up again but I can’t seem to find the key. Any ideas on how I can get a new one? I imagine as old as it is I could probably start it without the key just so I can move it but a new key would be the ideal solution. What can I say, I want it all, and I want it now. I love my Toy. Have it for 10 years now and my best memories are from working on it for a few days before a holiday. Trouble is I barely drive it - it got hit by devastating hale 1.5 years ago and I was only able to fix it this last summer. Basically been no where for 2 years. With so little use, I've put it up for sale. For astronomical amount of money so no one buys it. But... a guy called last week, wants to see it. D88mn. I need to justify keeping it, if I am not using it for holidays regularly. So I've come up with the following idea - as i need a work truck. I will demount the coach section, put a truck bed, and lo and behold - I have a truck for most days, and an RV for the time I want to hit the road.

Has anyone done this? Is a pipe dream? I haven't been under the truck for couple of years but from memories the coach section is bolted onto angle iron which is itself bolted or welded onto the main chasis rails. Once the snow melts I will crawl under to investigate.

The back door on my Chinook has started popping open while I'm driving down the road. Nothing has gone flying out yet, thank goodness, but I'm getting pretty paranoid. The first time, it was unlocked and I was storing my drinking water dispenser in the little landing, and I think it knocked the door open when I hit a bump. However, it happened again even with the door locked. Now I don't keep anything in that area, but the other day it opened up twice, while locked, just randomly. Road was somewhat bumpy but not terrible. I've been crawling through from the cab and locking the little deadbolt on the inside when I'm driving, but it's a pain. The little red handle on the inside of the latch doesn't budge, either, so I'm wondering if the whole thing just needs to be replaced and it's just not catching enough to stay closed. If I try to pull it open, though, I can't, so I'm concerned that there's something else going on, with the door jamb or something.

Another separate issue I'm having is ground clearance. Seems like every time I pull into a slightly steep driveway or go over a speedbump (they're huge here), I end up scraping the ground. My leaf springs are new and there's not a lot of weight back there. Is this just an issue with motorhomes? I'm going over stuff so slow to try to avoid it but it still happens. Is there anything I need to look at or add to it to get it up a little? Air shocks have been suggested, but to look at it, nothing sags.
