Is My Propane Tank The Correct Tank?

ive been having issues lighting my refrigerator and heater with propane. I believe both the pilots need to be replaced since the burners and water heater work fine. But im reading about the differences between horizontal and vertical mounted tanks. The tank i have in is a regular propane tank you would get a freddys or where ever (blue rhyno) mounted on its side. Is this safe? Does anyone else have this set up? 84 dolphin. Thanks

to my knowledge the only horizontal tanks you may use are the ones intended as such and will NOT look like a grill tank... but instead look like these:

Yes that's OK the new tanks should shut off if the are on their side but one thing you do not need is liquid propane getting into your system. The horizontal tanks have the discharge above the propane so only gas can get into the lines and they are not to be used standing up.
