SCRIPAL
I need to replace the vinyl strips that go into the metal moldings along the top of my 89 Dolphin. Can anyone tell me the correct width? Thanks
markwilliam1
Hi Al! The vinyl insert strip I bought are 1" across. Bought a large roll to do Grannie. I followed MRE's suggestion and laid it in the sun awhile to soften it up. Also remember it will shrink some so leave a little extra length for that! I used my fingernails to insert the strip and boy that hurt after awhile. Best, Mark
Dolphinite no longer here
Also, to keep the vinyl from shrinking too much, run a screw through each end after leaving the vinyl out for a couple of weeks. John
hunkaman
I WOULD SUGGEST AN AUTOMOTIVE UPHOLSTERY TRIM SCREW, ( HAS A WASHER BUILT IN ). ALSO WOULD RECOMMEND STAINLESS OR ALUMINUM TO PREVENT RUST STAINS. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR NEW INSERT IS WHITE. JOE FROM DOVER
