85huntsman
My fuel tank is leaking, and we want to replace it. Does anyone know if the tank for an 85 4runner will work or if a different tank was used on these?
5Toyota
I don't know on that but a tank from a long box pickup might work. the short box trucks have smaller tanks.
85huntsman
I saw in the manual that the short bed pickup has a 13.7 gallon tank and the long beds were 17. From our travels, the tank felt way more like 13.7 than 17. Would a 17 gallon tank fit? I've looked online for a replacement tank, but all I have found are 17 gallon tanks. linda s
Your tank is 17 gallons. They all seem to show empty at about 13 but there's more gas in the tank. Linda
LCL
I, too, have an '85 Huntsman with a possible leak. Though, I have a replacement tank that looks like it will bolt right up, but the fuel pump hole size is smaller than stock. Is anyone familiar with this variation or know what pump I need to use the replacement tank? Cheers, Tom
Derek up North
New tank? Guess it wouldn't hurt to contact the Seller. If it's a Spectra-Premium, they also make pumps which should fit. http://ecat.spectrapremium.com/a/24635
LCL
Derek, Even without much info from the previous owner, I should have been able to figure out it was aftermarket. Indeed, It's a Spectra-Premium, though the model for a carbed engine instead of my 22RE. Cheers
