I recently purchased a Coghlands folding bow saw! They are pretty cheap and I'm adding it to my camping/recovery equipment. It's very quick to setup, blade lives inside long stem, simply loosen a set screw unfold and place other end through handle and tension it.

Very light weight, see pics and won't need a chainsaw when I'm up at remote forest roads.

But chainsaws are so fun. You can't scare the local girl scouts with that. Just kidding. I keep a folding saw in my camper but that one looks more stable. Where did you get it

I have one of these: http://www.machetespecialists.com/gegamagagrha.html . In all of my vehicles. The blade's not properly sharpened from the manufacturer, but the saw is almost as good as my big bowsaw. It's really strong because it's really thick, never saw a machete that thick before, nice handle and sheath.

I bought an actual bow saw for my camper. Takes up more space than I'd like (especially in the little Chinook), but it's worth it. If I had seen something like that, though, I probably would have gotten it instead. Looks pretty nice.

I haven't had to cut trees out of the road yet, luckily, but it definitely comes in handy when it's time to gather firewood.

Well it broke, so in returning with full refund. I found this folding hacksaw woodsaw combo

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CSWHJUW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1423335821&sr=8-1&keywords=eka+viking+combi+saw&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=41xYpisEy6L&ref=plSrch

Looks a lot more sturdy. I need it compact for my backcountry ski patrol work to fit in my backpack and also for the Sunrader.

That machete looks great. I could really scare all the cross country skiers with it vanman. And it's only $14 bucks on amazon right now

This is what I carry with me. Not saying it's awesome but it's what they had in the hardware store when I needed one, and so far it's worked great. The little folding saw comes backpacking with me. It can actually saw through some pretty good size logs. Plenty big logs for an understated backpacking fire.

Wow, "And it's only $14 bucks on amazon right now", great price.

I have an old bowsaw that's 22" blade and it came with a plastic sheath for the blade, which detaches easily. A lot easier to store that way. All the labels are gone except for { Pat. 3.329.187 } engraved on the release handle, don't remember where I got it, but it cuts great.
