chefdave
Hi have been trying to bleed cooling system for 3 weeks on my 3vze engine. no joy. Have jacked up front, built a ramp out of stone to lift front fitted a bleed valve in heater hose. no luck on any of them. not losing coolant and system holding pressure. have blown through overflow pipes no blockages. air is still entering system. have replaced hoses and fastners. no sign of blown head gasket. no mayo in oil or water vapour in exhaust. anyone have any ideas. as im stumped thanks dave
linda s
I purge my coolant system of air like this. Stick a tight fitting funnel in the cap hole, overfill with coolant and open heater valve and let it run. Any air in the system will eventually bubble out. I let mine cool in place before I remove the funnel and extra coolant. Watch it so if it sucks up some of that coolant you can refill the funnel. They make funnels just for this purpose http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-24680-Spill-Free-Funnel/dp/B00A6AS6LY Linda S
Skydancer2992
What worked for me was to disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator and then hold the open end up vertically while pouring more coolant directly into the block.
