Dolphinite no longer here
Just finished up repairing my '85 Dolphin. The back was rotten in several places and it meant removing the outside metal siding, tearing out the rotten stuff and rebuilding everything. Big job and Im done working on it for this year! idaho
definitely bookmarking this page. this is what i'm facing. real good to know exactly what is behind the fiberglass. your work looked too pretty to cover! Are the boards all 1x2's? How thick is the plywood? I'm going to bite the bullet someday and take the rear piece of fiberglass off my Dolphin and want to make sure I have everything to fix it on hand. Thanks
bajadulce
nice work! Dolphinite: Curious what the story is behind your avatar picture and the odd spikes on your wheel hub? That happen naturally?
Dolphinite no longer here
Those ice spikes formed on one of the rear wheels of my Nissan pickup last Winter. The slush I drove through, the centrifugal action of the spinning wheel, the perfect temperature, they all combined to form this cool Winter sculpture. Harvey the RV
Very nice I did the same repair but just used plywood. Much heavier of course and not as neat as yours. The problem was the spare tire bolted thru that wall. So I had an A frame welded to the back bumper to carry the tire.
