Hello,

I am interested in purchasing a toyota sunradar and found one in my city for 8,000. It is actually posted in the classifieds of this website. It has a replaced engine at 75,000. The owner has done a lot of work on it and put in about 2000 since she bought it sight unseen one year ago I drove it and its is good condition.

I seems like the price of 8000 is high. Blue book has no reference on this older rv. Any help is appreicated about price for this link. The last ad in San Francisco. My link

Hi Spiritdrum, I think the price is kind of high also. At 130,000 miles you would have to really like the inside colors. This one has been on the market for awhile.

Sunraders command a little higher price due to the fiberglass shell & 17 footers are a little more rare. We payed a rather high 7500 for an 86 21 foot sunrader, but it only had 86K miles, generator, solar, microwave, original upohlstry (real clean), really good looking undercarrage and drive/engine. Even so I have put 2000$ and three months work in it

8K seems a bit steep, but, with a new engine, the time of year (peak buying season) and being in a market that probably commands a little more than most, i wouldn't call it an outrageous asking price.

Also, it seems like the 18 ft sunraders are a bit more sought after than the 21s.

Another thing to remember is 5 dollar gas likely being in our near future. this takes the big domestic c class pigs out of consideration for some and probably adds a bit to toyhouse values.

probably more important than purchase price is getting a good sense of what might be required in terms of maintenance/repair to get the Sunrader to where you want it. cosmetics like painting on the interior are pretty easy. springs, shocks, brakes, window seals, appliance work, etc... all add up.

Hi Lisa,

8K seems high to me too. Do you know if it has the beefed up 1 ton rear end? That is key.

thanks everyone for their thoughts. It got a good bill of health from a mechanic, but he didn't check ridge and . I thik the buyer is honest and add 12000 to get it up to par before the sale, I know that it doesn't have a heater which may be an issue in winter months or states east of the rockies. Also the ac is iff in the cab. There is something to be said about finding the exact rv you want in the city you live in. I would have to buy it sight unsee or buy without checking it out.

It seems amazing to have found one so close to where I live. Like a sign cause I prayed for it and asked to leave SF. Still not sure what to do. The buy has continued to look for new peoplo, e bacause she wants me to put a deposit down to ensure that I will buy it if I get other things like the fridge and stove looked at and a knob for the hot water heater replace.

This will be my home if I buy it.

Also, what was the comment on adding a new engine and its draw backs.

thanks lisa

It does have a back metal thing attached to the back and their may have been one on the front. I can attach wood and my bike to it. So maybe it doesn't have it. I found it to be clunky to drive especially when it was really windy. Must be a common thing when dirving rvs as I am a newbie.

There's a Toyota RV for sale on Ebay. It's a manual, and the asking price is $6,250 down from the original price of $8,200 approximately two months ago. Check it out!
