anna
hi everyone! great site here, i just found it and i had no idea there were so many toyotahomes around. they look perfect for an extended trip. i've got about 6 months and will be taking the slow road from michigan to vancouver to mexico. i'm considering buying a chinook pop-up camper with 99,000 miles. could someone please give me an idea of what to expect in the way of problems with these vehicles. is there a particular year that is a lemon? and so forth, any info would be greatly appreciated. also, i've got my eye on the toyota vans (hiace or le) anyone seen a website for these little beauties or know who might be selling one? THANKS, anna
WME
The Pop Tops get the best gas milage and have the simplest setup engine and truck wise. They don't have holding tanks or toilet or shower, so you would be spending lots of time in RV parks. Though some carry a porti potty You basicaly get a bed, table, heater, simple stove, ice box (though some do have refers) and a single faucet sink ( cold water only). The sink drains into a tank you hook up outside each time you want to use it. In Yahoo groups there is a group for Boondocking that may have ideas about simplicity
