Guest dan
Can anyone tell me, is the camper body placed on a standard toyota truck frame? I know where there is a 70s erra nissan sunrader thats not looking too good. The truck, not the camper part. I have an 88 toyota 4x4 with a bad bed. I was just curious if the camper would fit on my frame. Im guessing its a heavier fram for the camper. Just saw my first toyota camper here in iowa. I think I like it. Been looking at a class A Midas for occasional camping but this looks great and much better mileage. Thanks for any info. dan
Gulfstream Greg
I think it depends on the length of the coach. If its an 18 foot Sunrader it may be the stock frame. If anything the frame would have to be made longer in the tail and maybe beefed up some. Also you would need to put a 1 ton full floating rear axle on the truck as the stock rear ends are not strong enough even for the short 18 foot sunraders. I have a 1986 4x4 sunrader and to me the frame looks like it has been beefed up in many areas. Should be a fairly easy task with the bed off. Guest full floater
I agree w/ T. Greg. U need a full floating axle plus (recomended) overload springs.
