bufbooth
Hello All, I just got back from a 1.5 week road trip from Indianapolis to Grand Portage Minnesota. I saw four other Toyotas on the trip, just wondering if it was any members from this site. I saw Toyotas at: 1) Highway 61 NE of Duluth on July 7th (they were heading NE) 2) McDonalds in Duluth on July 8th on Route 53 / Route 2 3) At the Great Lakes Welcome Center just West of Ashland Wisconsin on July 8th. A couple was just leaving as we were pulling in, they were from CA. 4) In Marengo Wisconsin on July 9th The drive from Duluth MN to Grand Portage is a very nice drive on Route 61, it hugs the coast line of Lake Superior. Most of the drive you can see the water and about every five miles or so they have a rest area to pull off to that is between the road and the water. One cannot camp at these rest areas, but can stay for 6 hours. There are about 6 to 8 state parks on this route and most have campgrounds and dump stations. In the past I have purchased the state permit ($25 a year, or $5 a day) just to use the dump stations and fill up with fresh water. I brought the canoe with, but fishing was not so good, but still had a good time on an inland lake (Copper Falls State Park in Wisconsin). I will add a few pictures later. [ attachment=696:pic9.JPG] My Toyota ran great, she turned 99,000 miles on the trip, the new bunk bed worked great, the boys were fighting on whose turn in was to use it. Dennis...
