I feel that Redline is the best. It isn't cheap, but I noticed my rear axle didn't get as hot as with standard. Mine is a manual transmission and I used Redline in that as well and it improved smoothness of shifting. Commonly used in high performance trucks. Interestingly 22REperformance.com recommends regular oil (non Synthetic) for the engines. They are in my opinion, the best people when it comes to 22R-22RE advice.

EP 90. 10W 30 engine oil 99% of drivers do not need syn oil. I'll put it to you this way engines have no feelings so "my engine feels better using Syn oil" has no merit.

Yep for sure. I was told to use Shell Rotella 10w-40 diesel oil for my 22re as it is heavier oil that these engines prefer. Keeps that timing chain all greasy. People at jiffy lube keep trying to synth me but I insist that the 'ole guy told me to use this so this is what i am using,' last trip was 2500 miles and it used 1/2 cup of oil. got 130 ,500 miles on it so far. But rear end leaks about 1/2 quart every 800 miles
