Iflyfish
Has anyone found an interior LP gas gauge that can be installed inside the coach? Iflyfishwithgassodon'tgettooclose
WME
Not a good idea to permanently mount a pressure gauge inside. They are not hard tube. They use a rubber hose to a appliance jet. BUT here is a gauge...https://www.tequipment.net/Dwyer/LPTK-01/HVAC-Manometers-and-Micromanometers/?Source=googleshopping If you just want to check the pressure to adjust a regulator, here is a home made manometer...http://www.rverscorner.com/manometer.html

What I was thinking about was I have seen sensors stuck to LP gas cans that give a reading. I was just wondering if there was such a thing that cold remotely monitor the tank without having to hook up a hose to monitor. I was thinking some sort of stick on monitor that broadcasted the level. Maybe pie in the sky.
WME
"What we have here is a failure to communicate." Are you after a propane gas line pressure gauge or a how full is my tank gauge? If you want a how full is your tank gauge is, try this...https://www.rvupgradestore.com/AP-Products-024-1002-Propane-Gas-Indicators-2-p/06-2192.htm
Maineah
The problem with a pressure gauge it remains pretty much the same (except for temp changes) until the propane is gone. They do make stick on things that will give you some ideal of the level of the liquid. Weight them (4.2 lbs per gallon info on tare weight is on the tank) or just pour some warm water down the side, the level of the liquid with be apparent. jetalkington
You don't say what king of tank you have. Is it horizontal mounted or is a portable? Mine is mounted and has a sensor built into the tank that goes to a monitor inside my Sunrader. If that's the case you may have the same thing and a broken wire. Maineah
The saddle tanks are 30 LB tanks and most had a float gauge mounted on the tank .They made compartment horizontal tanks also with float gauges.

Iflyfish
You guys are amazing! I really appreciate the thinking here. I have a horizontal tank installed at the factory. It has a pressure gauge on it. I am looking for something that I can perhaps attach (magnetically) to the tank that would send a signal to a monitor inside of the unit. I have a gauge that tells me fresh water level, black water level, battery level but no LP reading. Iflyfishcluelessattimes

I will pursue this more. I appreciate your detective work. I figured there must be something like this out there. It is the how full is my tank gauge I'm looking for. jetalkington
I have the horizontal mounted also. Mine has a terminal on the gauge. See the picture I posted. There was a wire that ran from that terminal to my stove hood that indicated LPG level. It seemed accurate. I plan to reconnect it when I get my rebuild done. Look on yours to see if you have the terminal. My plan is to use see level sensors and they tell me they are compatible with this tank and sensor. Others probably have a better working knowledge of these, as this is my first mounted tank.

Maineah
That is a resistive level sensor pretty much the same as a vehicle fuel tank. To replace the unit would require removing the old one obviously with an empty propane tank and the necessary parts. It does not relay on pressure it is a float gauge that reads the liquid propane level in the tank.
WME
IF YOUR tank has a gauge that uses a magnetic gauge sender, change to a remote meter is easy. Excellent! I knew there was something out there!! I'm going to run it by my intstall guy. Thank you WME for your patience and taking the time to research this for me. jetalkington
Thanks for this. This helps me a lot in going forward on my tank monitoring.
jetalkington
Ok, I got curious. I watched the video, which was interesting. Now I know how this this works. So, I went to my tank and took out the gauge. It is like the one in the video. So, it works on the magnetism. Good to know that I can just pop it out and replace it. I am repainting my tank. It was a mess. So, now I can take the gauge out and clean it and reinstall it.
