Hello: I am happy to report I purchased a sweet 1980 Toyota Dolphin motorhome in December, working out bugs close to home and giving her a new coat of paint... then we learned of the Recall... I'm a decent artist but not even so much a mechanic! That said, right now I have the deathtrap Fooley off, and I picked up a Toyota dually one-tone axle, three wheels and one on the way.

I've attached some photos of the new part. I'm going to try to put this on myself, with some direction from my bro-inlaw. Just found this fabulous site and forum, so reaching out for any suggestions or tips (or even just a "good luck!") you might have as I take this on. Our current challenge is getting the very stuck brake drums off and matching the drive line shaft to the rear end yoke (they are different diameters at point of contact). Best regards, and thanks :) Jamesdolly4.jpg.dfa2c7e6693091f56913e47ed15a2a61.jpgdolly3.jpg.ba9e4eb743f7f7bc4042011e03d42e25.jpgdolly1.jpg.ab48bb9348d42115dd6a56041710d885.jpgdolly2.jpg.4abb986a024c773296158160b9865ce2.jpg

Will the U bolt flange from the old axle fit the new axle. I'm not sure but I think I remember somebody just redrilling one of the flanges.
