How do I reduce the charge to 13.5 volts I have a 1983 sunrader 22r engine carberated. I have a solar panel which is turned off while driving. 280 with it's own separate reg. Maineah
I believe your's has an external regulator that would be a good place to start. It's pretty much the only thing that would case and over charge like that provided no one has tinkered the wiring.
linda s
Pretty sure an 83 has an external voltage regulator instead of internal in the alternator. It has probably gone bad. Buy a new one Linda S

Alvin
Battery charging is all about the internal resistance of a given battery. When the batteries are new, they have lower resistance...charge faster. This will change over time. Not sure you have a problem.
