CarolinaDolphin
I've got a 1987 dolphin. I'm looking to put some type of portable a/c in it. I have an inverter in it with one car battery but of course that won't power very much for very long. Just looking for ideas/suggestions from others on what I could do. linda s
There isn't a system that will work for more than a very short time. 15 or 20 minutes and you would have to find somewhere to recharge. Linda S
Derek up North
I think the closest you'll get to what you're looking for is a swamp cooler.

Close to useless in the Carolina's. There are 12 volt dehumidifiers. Won't make it cool but it will feel more comfortable being hot. WME
What you want is available, you just need to stop counting your money and start weighing it. ($10,000 weighs 3.527 oz)
WME
There 12v AC units designed to cool Over the road Trucks. They will run 8hr + off battery power. The AC unit cost $1300-$1600, plus you will need 300 lbs of batteries for $600. Lastly a 200 amp alternator to recharge the batteries. With the same batteries and alternator AND a 5000w inverter you could run a 5000 btu window ac for a bunch less $$$. The reallity is about all you can do with out a generator and roof AC is a Fantastic Fan powered vent, a small 12v house fan, a good house battery and 100w solar panel setup
