I'm back in Alaska, this time with my wife. We plan on a 2 month return trip to Oregon.

About to enter the Alaska state fair in Palmer. Got to see those giant vegetables.

#1 picture is a sunset from airport parking. #2 is a vehicle modified slightly to move around float planes. #3 is a very pretty and deadly mushroom. Old panel van from WW2 and of course another glacier.

pictures are from Whittier access road, to Soldotna Sterling hwy.

The Anton Anderson tunnel is 1-lane, cars and trains take turns traveling through it. It is cut out of mountain under the Portage glacier.  Iceberg that calved from Portage glacier,  moose an grizzly bear,  beaver chew,  lingonberries-low bush cranberries-cranberries which ever you like.

No cell power for awhile now to catch up. Presantly at a campground in Haines, Ak. Need a shower and to do laundry.

After spending a great time at the Alaska state fair we drove to Macarthy and walked a foot bridge and took a shuttle to the Kennecott copper mine.

This mine was built in the winter of 1911 ran until 1938 them shut down because it ran out of high grade oar. Temperatures down to -50 were experienced.

Matenusca glacier.

Tazlina glacier.  Walking bridge to McCarthy then a shuttle to Kenicott mine. Kenicott copper mine was built in the winter of 1911 then when high grade oar pettered out in 1938 it shut down. If you look close you may be able to make out the mill just above the outhouse.

Ooh good one too. Left hand drive so you don't look like a mailman and periscope so you can drive through streams. me like. The way the back kicks up is pretty cool too. No hitting the road trying to back off that hill you just discovered was too steep

Came across a surprise while parking to go to a brewery. Prince Rupert sunken gardens.

Well it's Cow bay. That's what you do with a dead VW, plant the front end.

Great pics! How much is the ferry from Ketichikan to Prince of Whales Island. If you get to Coffman Cove look up my good friend, the Mayor, Bryce Brucker and tell him Rick sent you.
