  1. Just tried to smog my 91 Odyssey so we can sell it and found out there was a leak in the fuel system. Had my mechanic take a look and after a smoke test he says the metal line going from the tank to the rubber fuel lines is rusted and that's where the leak is. They suggest to replace the whole tank...is this necessary? Can the metal line just be replaced? If not, what size tank is this and where might I find a suitable replacement? Thanks
  2. I bought a 1985 21' Sunrader a while back and was told by the seller that it had a 17 gallon tank. Indeed, judging by the fuel guage it seemed to be 17 gallons, as when the guage read near empty, around 17 gallons would fill it. Poking around under the vehicle for other reasons, I noticed that the fuel tank seemed pretty large. It's rectangular and measures 34" x 13.5" x 13.5". Using an online volume calculator, and taking the slightly rounded corners into account, it would seem this is a 26 gallon tank. Is there something I'm not considering here that might make it 17 gallons? If it is a 26 gallon tank, I'm thinking that perhaps someone stuck the stock bracket and sender on it, hence the guage readings. If that's the case, am I right in thinking that the pump is likely sitting a few inches above the bottom of the tank? I don't mind the sender/guage being off, but if the pump is sitting above the tank bottom is there a way to put an extension hose our tube on the bottom of it to make it reach the bottom of the tank ( with the sock filter attached to the end)?
  3. Greetings! I have a 1982 Toyota Dolphin and I need to replace the fuel tank. Where can I find a replacement tank and around how much should I expect to pay? Thank you dearly Nina
  4. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has encountered the following problem: For the past three summers, I had difficulty pumping gas in the fuel tank when I am travelling at a higher elevation (Glacier , Yosemite, and Yellowstone national parks). On these occasions, the gas keep spilling out indicating that the gas tank is full. The only thing I could do is to pump gas very slowly (and this usually took 10 minutes and it is a pain!). I did not have difficulty pumping gas at the beginning or at the end of the trips when I am at lower elevation. Also, I do not have any difficulty pumping gas when travelling on trips at lower elevation. Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there a solution?
  5. It has sit in a field for the last eight years was not getting fuel. I ended breaking a outlet tube from where fuel pump sends out. So now I need a new pump hanger $89.00 advance. When I got the tank out It sounded like gravel inside. It was bad shook a chain it forever then a acid bath now getting better. The fuel level sensor also seems to be bad I have got to move but it shows as a open circuit on the ohm meter. another $38.00 One question what is the cake pan in the bottom for? it is 8x8" maybe 3" high with a tube going from inside
