  1. Do you currently use a 3-post battery isolator, or a 4-post? I had a 1985 Sunrader with similar problems until I replaced my 3-post with a 4-post and connected the 'exciter' post to one of the alternator wires. Do you have a Nippendenso 3-wire alternator?
  2. Just the same - keep an eye on the situation. I had both lights on as well, and eventually my battery stopped charging. Using a voltmeter, I discovered that the alternator wasn't putting out enough juice. It can take a long time for an alternator to 'slowly die'. 3 times I got stranded during a couple different trips. After changing the alternator, the battery charged fine and the battery light went out. But the brake light was still on. However, I just grabbed the emergency brake handle, pulled it out, and shoved it back all the way in. The brake light shut off and has been off since. This isn't to say you didn't resolve your problem - just that electrical is tricky with these rigs with aall the aftermarket stuff added. Good luck and happy camping!
  3. We are new to the world of RVing. We just got a 1985 Toyota Sunrader that we just love. I love this website! Hopefully this will help a lot of us learn the easier, rather the hard way. 1. When filling the fresh water tank, I believe I want all the faucets open. Once the water comes out and the air is bled from the system, I think I shut off the faucets and the water supply (the hose). I do not have a pressure regulator, so I assume the water pressure may be too high to just leave on the hose. Is this correct? 2. Refrigerator (Dometic Auto Energy Source) - I get it working when I'm driving or when plugged into 30 AMP service at the campsite. If I plug into a standard extension cord (at my house), I don't believe that's good enough, so it tries to use the LP gas. So, when I try to start with LP, I eventually get the red warning light that it tried to start with LP but was unable. I try over and over as the manual suggests, but to no avail. I have LP gas in the tank (my stove works fine), but I figure maybe there's a plugged gas line or the pilot doesn't light. I can here a magnito clicking, so it's trying to start. Am I on the right track?
