  1. My starter is fine. Bench tested at starter repair place, works perfect. Reinstalled, gear clicks on run, nothing happens on start. Going to check relay and solenoid, solenoid fuse.
  2. I think that’s what’s happening to mine. 1982 Toyota 2wd motorhome. Replaced the starter, once new starter was installed, turn the key to on, gear engages, starter does nothing. Removed it, tested on a battery, same thing. Gear engages, but starter doesn’t turn...any idea what that part inside the starter is?
  3. Well, if someone has an axle for me to buy, I'd be glad to take it. It seems I'm a little late to this party.
  4. First, I've been driving big rigs and small for 38 years, not horses. Always maintained, never broken anything. There is nothing wrong with my axles, only a few strangely shaped bolts I'd like to replace. I'm sorry if you've all had close calls; but you don't need to insult me just because mine's not broke. I'll drink water, but not necessarily your kool-aid. Thanks for all your help. I have found a local fabricator to make my bolts, we're just checking the metallurgy now to make as good or better bolts.
  5. I appreciate the warnings, and I'm generally a cautious person. This is not a cross country rig, just a local tootle around for the wife and I. It's an unmodified camper, and the rear end is in really good shape. I even have a rig I could tow it around with if I needed, but it runs well, drives smooth, and I'm currently maintaining it.. I normally travel at 50 mph max, because it's comfortable. I'm not climbing mountains, just driving on the Prairies. Not sure if I will replace the axle or not, but not today.
  6. Your assumption of age is correct. I'm also within the weight and length parameters, and only need to replace a few nuts and bolts that were overtightened. Also, it's just the wife and I, so we're going to use the overcab as storage and use the bed at the back when we're parked and on jacks, keeping the traveling weight over the front. Thanks Jim
  7. Hi, everyone. I have a Canadian model called Okanagan, 16 1/2 foot, I have the 5 lug with extension kit rear axle, but because it's not a long distance runner, I'm going to keep it as is. Does anyone have extra nuts and bolts for this setup? I need inner nuts with sleeves, inner bolts, and outer fine thread nuts. If someone has these leftover from their conversion, I could really use what you have. thank you,...Big Jim
