  1. Also, this is where the wires are going.
  2. Do you or does anyone else have a link to an isolator that would work?
  3. Hey all, I just recently purchased an 85 Toyota Shasta. It was running fine for the first few weeks and then the other day it died mid-use and would not start back up. Both batteries are good, coach electricity still works, but vehicle won't start. I traced the issue back to the attached part. Is this the battery isolator switch? Or is it some other part? Anyone know where i can find a replacement, I can't get a good read on the worn part number? I managed to bypass it to start the vehicle but now even when the key is out of the ignition the battery and oil lights on the dash stay illuminated, and only turn off when the vehicle turns on. So i have been unhooking the battery when not using the vehicle... Any advice helps. I'm new to this but trying to learn. Thanks!
  4. Hello! I just picked up a 1985 Toyota Shasta for what I believe to be a good deal, but have no clue how its systems work. Does anyone know of a manual that exists for Shastas? or what similarities and differences their are with Dolphins or other models? My main concerns are how the electrical/dual battery system works, what tires/wheels I need, and how the water systems work. I'm a first time RV owner so any advice helps! Thank you.
  5. Hey everyone, I just bought a 1985 Toyota Shasta (my first motorhome) and before cutting into it and starting some DIY projects I have a few questions. 1) What "layers" can I expect when cutting through either the wall or ceiling to the outside? And are there any areas to avoid cutting because of wiring or structural supports? I plan on installing a small woodstove right away since I will be living in it this winter. 2) Has anyone installed a woodstove? I searched and found some older posts that didn't have much detail regarding the process. Specifically I'm interested in what flue/flashing was used to route the piping through the roof/wall. 3 ) What are some winterizing tips for the cab since I will be living in it in below freezing temps? Should I drain out all water systems and simply not use them, or are there techniques to prevent any freezing/cracking while still allowing water use? 4) Finally, does anyone have a manual for the camper? I'm trying to wrap my head around how all the systems work - electricity, heat, water, bathroom, etc? The owner I bought it from didn't know much about it. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
