Hey everyone, I just bought a 1985 Toyota Shasta (my first motorhome) and before cutting into it and starting some DIY projects I have a few questions.
1) What "layers" can I expect when cutting through either the wall or ceiling to the outside? And are there any areas to avoid cutting because of wiring or structural supports? I plan on installing a small woodstove right away since I will be living in it this winter.
2) Has anyone installed a woodstove? I searched and found some older posts that didn't have much detail regarding the process. Specifically I'm interested in what flue/flashing was used to route the piping through the roof/wall.
3 ) What are some winterizing tips for the cab since I will be living in it in below freezing temps? Should I drain out all water systems and simply not use them, or are there techniques to prevent any freezing/cracking while still allowing water use?
4) Finally, does anyone have a manual for the camper? I'm trying to wrap my head around how all the systems work - electricity, heat, water, bathroom, etc? The owner I bought it from didn't know much about it.
Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
