  1. HI THERE, FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH A TOTAL ROOF REPLACEMENT ON MY 92 WINNIE, WORK DONE BY AN RV SHOP WAS CLOSE TO 5K. THEY TORE ENTIRE ROOF OFF AND REPLACED WITH RUBBER MEMBRANE, ALSO REQUIRED NEW INTERIOR CEILING. IT IS A VERY LABOR INTENSIVE JOB. JUST A HEADS UP. HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH YOUR RIG. JOE FROM DOVER.
  2. nice trip report. enjoyed your post. good luck with your travels. joe from dover.
  3. i do as linda s explained, i only turn my pump switch on when i want to open a water valve (kitchen sink, bathroom sink, shower, or toilet), but just to educate me, IF i left the water pump switch on continuously, would it be usual or normal to have the water pump cycle WITHOUT opening a water valve , or would/should the pump only cycle when opening a water valve. thanks for answering anyone. joe from dover
  4. these rigs are like anything else you have a passion for....boats, cars, motorcycles, etc. you can throw as much money at it as you want, it will all stick. if you have a budget that allows it, have at it and enjoy. good luck. joe from dover.
  5. grung2u, thanks for the offer, i do wish to have the prndl with the cluster. i will look for one with the info provided. thanks to all for the replies. joe from dover.
  6. hey there rebecca k, i decided not to risk it. the cons out weighed (no pun intended) the pros. i am sure the frame rails could have been reinforced to handle the weight of the 600 coupe, but the other issues concerning the trans, brakes, etc. , made me walk away from the idea. too bad, because i was really excited about having another 600 to ride in while traveling with the winnie. good luck to you. joe from dover.
  7. hi there, the ceiling panel may have separated from the support structure above causing the "sag", if in fact this is what happened, what caused it is the big question. joe from dover.
  8. hi there, if you use a quality double sided adhesive tape, such as 3m products, you should have no problems. a smallish spice rack and a few knives is not enough weight to dislodge provided you use a good quality tape. there is a magnetic tape with adhesive on the back side. i have a roll in my shop, it comes in various widths (mine is 2 inches), and the thickness is about 1/8 ". i suggest looking on line for the above mentioned tapes. hope this helps. joe from dover.
  9. hi there, welcome and good luck with your "new" to you rig. hope your trip back to Texas is pleasantly uneventful. joe from dover.
  10. hey all, i would very much like to do this cluster swap in my 92 winnie. i think with all your great posts with great info i can do this. just need to know if anyone has a good, reliable source for a cluster? any comments, advice or help with this is greatly appreciated. winnie comes out of storage april first. i would like to do this asap, hopefully before i hit the road this season. thanks again. joe from dover.
  11. so sorry for your loss. i have the same rig, less awning. mine has 57k now. no issues. hope you get the best possible price. and good luck with future adventures. respectfully, joe from dover.
  12. i doubt an 85 would be rubber, i thought that rubber roofs were later. my 92 winnie original was aluminum. just my opinion, maybe someone has more factual info. joe from dover.
  13. HI THERE, AS LINDA COMMENTED, DOES NOT LOOK, FROM PICS, REALLY ALL THAT BAD. HOPE THIS IS TRUE, AND YOU CAN SAVE ANOTHER TOYA MH TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY. BEST OF LUCK. BTW, THE PEOPLE HERE ARE A GODSEND FOR ALL YOUR FUTURE QUESTIONS, JOE FROM DOVER
  14. sounds like you have a plan. after your repair, possibly you could cover over the unsightly area with an interesting vinyl graphic of some sort , to prevent trying to match the paint, a cosmetic band aid approach. just my thoughts. wish you well. joe from dover.
  15. hey there, i totally agree with all the above advice and comments. in my non expert opinion, you stated several times the openness and honesty of the owner in relating the previous water damage and the photos seem to indicate the rebuild was properly done, with all that said there will be other issues to attend, as suspension, mechanical, etc., i say trust you gut, hope all goes well. joe from dover.
  16. HEY THERE, how many holes are we talking about ? and are they concentrated in one area. or spread out ? joe from dover.
  17. AMAZING build, i have an extensive background in cabinet making and carpentry (50 years), and i can tell you without a doubt, you attention to construction, and detail is top level. i followed your build and was constantly impressed with your dedication and innovative design ideas. thank you so much for sharing an incredible project. joe from dover.
  18. possibly original seats were replaced less shoulder belt (s) ??? joe from dover
  19. had not thought about replacing fuel filter. seems like a reasonable thing to do on my 92 winnie v6. has 57k , probably should put on my "to do" list for upcoming season. question: where exactly is the fuel filter located? from pic, looks like on frame rail? my winnie is currently at an indoor storage facility, so i do not have access to look. thanks in advance for any reply. joe from dover.
  20. am i seeing a hood scoop? joe from dover.
  21. would just like to wish all, happy, safe journeys for the new year. also, if i may, thanks to all the great folks who make up this forum. i have learned so much from all the helpful people here, since being a newbie toya rv owner. i was a very raw newbie, never having a MH before 2015. my warrior was the first. i continue to learn from the combined wisdom and experience of you all. thanks again. joe from dover.
  22. happy that you found it useful. have a great holiday season. joe from dover.
  23. hey there, your improvements to the interior are stunning. great job. i really enjoy that mindset of respect for these unique rigs, and the owners involvement in "keeping them on the road." also updating to make your rig have a flavor of your own. you know it is a labor of love and can be very satisfying. i could not believe how much better the interior looked after mark william painted and added some flair to his rig, mark is a buddy and we camp together often. his rig is really nice. it shows when you are proud. hope you have many great adventures, be safe. and happy holidays. joe from dover.
  24. buy a bottle of black streak remover. joe from dover.
  25. a possible alternative to filon would be trying 1/8" x 96" x 48" plastic sheets. i am NOT talking about FRP. the plastic sheets i am referring to are solid, flexible and are available in colors. you may need to do some internet research to find a supplier. i became aware of these when i worked in a cabinet shop. the large units of cabinet grade plywood called "bunks", had these sheets on the very top of the bunk as a protective cover to prevent scratching and tow motor fork marks during shipping from the plywood manufacturer. i would assume that the cost of these sheets were nominal, since they were a one way use throwaway. i collected a few of these sheets from the company dumpster and used then as wall covering on the inside of my garage. with filon costing about $45.00 a lineal foot, it may be worth investigating. good luck, joe from dover.
