  1. I was told since this is an automatic trans parts are harder to get than a manual transmission.
  2. So, interior work has for the most part been completed. I ran into a transmission issue that has been my biggest headache. The trans shaft was cracked and its been several months locating one which now has been found, but since this is a one ton transmission finding a trans kit has also been a headache. Most kits have been for 1/2 ton pickups so they don't work. My mechanic and I have decided to replace both the motor and trans with a 6 cylinder and matching transmission out of a 199 4 Runner that we found. Plan to hear the motor tomorrow (2/15) then rebuild it all. I'm having so much fun!!!! Will update soon.
  3. So, I have attempted to post pictures but it says I do not have permission. so here is my up date; So far I have replaced the bathroom vent with a vent with a fan, replaced the refrigerator vent I also pulled the emergency hatch/vent over the bed cleaned around the opening and resealed it. Will remove and replace the air conditioner unit with one I have that has a heating element so when parked and on shore power it will heat the Dolphin. Have done some rewiring and since it does not have a stove/oven we purchased a induction cook top. Plan to start removing and replacing the ceiling panels since they had damage from leaks . will update again when I do some more work.
  4. Well finally got my toy home after having all the fluids,a tune up and replacing tires and the air bags. Now its time to get to work on changing and re-sealing the roof vents and AC unit. Then its on to the interior to replace the ceiling, floor and stove. Unit came with a new electric hot water heater and a new sink top, but no stove/oven.
  5. Well my 86 Dolphin doesn't have any keys to the storage or shore power doors. Are any of these locks/keys universal? I guess if not then I will be popping the locks and replacing them with new ones.
  6. They attempted to partner with Jiffy lube in areas here in Illinois but it only lasted 2 years, then Jiffy lube realized that it was not profitable and stopped. Walmart still honors the tire warranty though.
  7. The manger himself did the balancing and it took him awhile to figure it out. I did send them pizza for their effort .
  8. Ifn you look for this topic: How To Get Bigger Tires For Sunraderabout the 2nd or 3rd page in on this site it may help you.
  9. Well here's an update. They did mount and life timed the balance and rotation all for $14.00 a tire It did take them almost 6 hrs to do everything. They were short staffed and really had to work on getting the duellies off and on. I bet that the tires that were on there hadn't been changed in 10 yrs. I will post pictures of the change later.
  10. Thanks for the responses. I think that the front had a 6 lug pattern also, but I'm not sure. I bought tires and they were delivered today. I plan to drive it to a Walmart where they will mount and balance for 14.00 a tire.
  11. New here, just purchased a 1985 Dolphin 21 ft 4cyl R22 fuel injected motor. It does have the axle up grade. Currently it's sitting in southern Illinois and I hope to bring it home next month. The owner invested in a tankless water heater and started to fix it up but didn't have the time to do anything with it. So I will be probably be asking alot of questions here. I know that the first thing will be tires, tune up and transmission service. I'll post pictures soon.
