  1. EBAY you can find water tanks for cheap 30 gallon goes for $150 (Grey water)
  2. Bob, I don't know the model of the Fridge off hand. I can check and let you know. If you need parts and not the whole fridge, I could always ship parts for cost. (if it is the right fridge) I am located in Monmouth County, NJ.
  3. I am gutting my rader and modernizing everything. I don't know what works or what doesn't. But I have the following I will be donating to a good home once I get home in October. Everything is from a 1983 Sunrader (don't ask specifics I am not going to be able to get that info until October) - Fridge - Oven - Break Box - Furnace - Bathroom Shower/Sink combo - Whatever else you can ask about I may have tossed it already Keeping - Water Tanks - Toilet - Shower Pan - Kitchen Sink Everything will be located in Monmouth County, NJ
  4. Have you thought about purchasing a newer (mid 90's+) Tundra, T100 or Taco and dropping the Dually axle & Camper Frame onto that? It would eliminate the PITA that is welding up a new front end & would give you a chance to upgrade to a engine with some more power & I assume you still have the Axle & Frame. I have mine gutted to the Shell and Bathroom and to redo it from there on a 4x2 83 Yota body seems like I would outgrow it fast. Like yourself Income was an Issue, Now it is Time and Space.
  5. getout, Did you ever figure out what you are going to do for the 4x4 swap? I am in the same boat as I could really benefit from 4x4 and haven't decide what route to go. 1. Earlier Tundra 2. F-Series (preferably 7.3 Diesel) 3. Sell the Sunrader Gutted as is and find something shorter (I have the 21' and it is impractical to leave at my job when I get shipped out) Interested into what you decided on.
  6. I am redoing my Rader to get as much space and simplicity as I can. (LED lights, Stovetop, Portable toilet, Etc.) The appliances in my rig have seen better days and most need repairs to work. I did a lot of work for a company that can get me one of these at cost and was wondering if anyone has used one. It can fit into my Jeep if the Rader is off the road and my friend runs one off a single Harbor Freight Solar panel in his pickup. http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Fridge-Freezer-37-Qt-10800352-P21327.aspx
  7. Model: 1983 Sunrader Issue: I am having a issue which I am assuming is the converter or breaker box. Known RV problems: Had floor rot near passenger side window from weeper blocked, Oven Broken, Kitchen fan did not work, A/C Removed?, coach Battery and Terminals removed Note: I have never had the RV up and running since I purchased it. The previous owner removed the terminals under the hood for the coach battery and It appears they removed the once existing AC Unit. Story: I decided to use the shore line to check power and the appliances. I plugged in the line with a adapter to a standard extension cord and plugged it into a outlet with a trip on it. I pushed (not switched) in what I think to be the two breakers (main breaker area had no switch and was solid) and !!No Power!! Questions: 1. I was under the assumption there was a converter and a breaker box, were these ever built in one small unit? 2. Is there any reason the Shoreline won't run any power off a extension cord to normal house outlet? (Breaker in house did not pop) 3. I have no idea where to really start as I am in the dark on the whole wiring set-up and I know nothing about any of the appliances. Is there a way to test the breaker box or trace to see where I am losing power from the shore line? 4. Is there any reason they would have cut the terminals and removed the AC unit because of a electrical issue? If so is the best options to just rewire the whole coach (The cabinet skins are off and the kitchen cabinet & Oven are coming out) Thanks, Dave
  8. Karin, The Stove & Oven are both toast. I didnt pull it yet but I pulled the board around my Frig, etc. Did you remove the countertop yet? There is a tool called "The Tool" that I used to cut mine and I am going to cut the counter top out the rest of the way. Building Cabinets, etc isn't a big issue for me as I have all the tools and have been doing it for quite sometime. It would be much easier than making a new cabinet and you can level the new counter top with shims. This is all much easier as my interior has almost all the paneling & flooring removed. So I am essentially redoing everything but the plywood on the floor & Appliances. It is sitting in my driveway for at least the next 3 months.
  9. Thanks for the input everyone! I guess the plumbing will stay. Does anyone know about gettjng rid of the bathroom sink and replacing it with just a shower head? I couldnt find many options to go that route. Also has anyone replaced the oven for just a stovetop? I removed the overhead fan as it was toast and was going to replace the counter and make the additional space for storage once the oven is gone.
  10. I am new to the RV community as well as the forum. But I recently purchased a 1983 Sunrader that seem to be in pretty good shape (only rot by passenger side front window). I have removed all paneling and am now left with the cabinet skeletons and appliances in place. This bathroom area has been left untouched as the floor has multiple cracks and is guaranteed not water tight. This has brought me to my current situation. I am a pretty sound mechanic and have done everything from full gasket changes to axle rebuilds and suspension on Jeeps, the same goes for carpentry. I am trying to drop the weight of the vehicle as much as possible. I will be living in the RV full time and working a 9-5 job. I will have money for a gym membership and plan to use the Toilet & shower in emergency situations only. It does get well below freezing and I do not want to deal with the risk of broken plumping (mainly contaminated water). looking for insight & any instruction on the following. Removing: - Toilet - Shower - Sink (bathroom) - All plumbing aside from the kitchen sink - Black water tank (possibly grey water) - Oven Adding: - Fixing cracked bathroom floor - Suburban 3 burner Stovetop - 5 gallon self contained toilet - Pocket Shower (camping style) should I allow this to drain out directly to ground or can this be tied into the grey water tank. - putting a bucket under kitchen sink to catch water I am mainly interested in any feedback on ideas & how hard it is to remove the bathroom components & black water tank from the RV while maintaining the Kitchen sink & hot water.
