  3. I did the same thing when I bought my RV...No smog and bad paper work and of course smog failed I had to install new plugs wires and distributor the biggest headache was getting the pink slip finished up.. The guy I bought RV from never put RV in his name and moved out of state.. I had to track down the guy he bought the RV from sit outside his house until he came home and ask him to finish up paper work lucky he was nice enough to help me out so don't feel to bad you're not the only one who got excited and drove off to find out there's still work to be done to get RV registered.

  6. went on a nice 2 day trip up to Palomar Mnt. used my GPS and it took me up a nasty 16 mile dirt road 3,000 ft up to the Mnt. I prob. should of not tried this road and turned around when sign said "pavement ends no RVS or Trailers The road was steep muddy and very bumpy The RV drove up in low most of the way around switch backs and plain nasty roads their was no where to even try to turn around. Was shocked and pleased RV made it. I don't want to drive these roads but it's nice to know RV will make it..... I pushed the fuel gage light ran out of gas 1/2 block from home .. was a little over 20 miles from home when light came on.. The trip was great had the place to my self Sunday and just a couple of people Saturday Just me and Roxy my dog peace and quite was just what I needed

  13. sounds like you have a great RV start with the basic keep RV level where your going to park it.. get to know your RV and how to work everything turn on fridge (rv most be level) turn on propane and lite stove & oven (make sure turn off pilot light when done/turn off propane) turn on thermostat for heater should lite up and blow HOT air.. put some water in holding tank and try out all faucets and toilet (this will depend on how cold it is outside if your in a "Cold Winter State" make sure you have no water in holding tank or water lines you will have to "Winterize RV") lite water heater (should lite buy flipping a on off switch) You might do some little thing for engine change all fluids (oil transmission coolant)change spark plugs & wires.. look at the tire date (should be under 8 years) with no cracks.... you can call Toyota and give them your vin# to see if you need your head gasket replaced for recall good luck on your RV!!!! show us some pics Steve

  19. I changed my exhaust manifold gasket with out breaking any bolts! was the original gasket and leaked from manifold flange you name it.. Of course I only change manifold gasket first with out changing flange gasket (and it leaked bad) the clamp the holds exhaust was stripped out so had to take manifold off to replace flange gasket. so it took me 1/2 a day after wrestling exhaust around but everything is back together and not leaking .. First time I've changed 1 so I'm happy job well done and free labor!!!
