  1. Spent the past 7 hrs without luck.. I've decided to pass on the deal. I'll lose my deposit but there are too many problems considering the distance I am from it and the time constraints to have it moved.. If any one is interested its in Austin Tx. Here are some pics and the info. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/whtsup5555/a...htLmoFBdycQUxLz 83 toyota motorhome - $1650 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: sale-218465779@craigslist.org Date: 2006-10-10, 1:49AM CDT this will need to be towed, or you will have to bring and axle and I'll help you install it. this RV blew out an axle as low speeds. it still runs fine, starts easilly, and shifts through all the gears fine. nothing else wrong with the drive line, just an axle broke. prior to the damage, it was getting 22-24mpg and is still strong running. the interior needs work, but it is an excellent start on an economical RV. it has a fridge, stove, roof AC, and bathroom with shower/toilet. the engine, trans, accessories are worth more than the 1650. the tires were almost new, but there are 2 flat ones now. it's a 4 cyl 22r 2.4L motor carberated, it has a standard trans, the floor creeks in a few spots, but it seems solid, I dont feel like I will fall through it. I pulled out the carpet to see how bad the floor was, so there is no longer carpet. when the axle broke, it also broke the sewage holding tank, so it will need a new one of those. this vehicle will NEED to be TOWED, so you know, it will roll, but the axle I had here to keep it off the ground is a little too short, but it will allow it to roll. (it almost catches the differetial, but wont lock in due to being too short. so it will need a new axle still. Andy @ pubicimage@hotmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the tire size is: 27 x 8.50 R 14 LT the full length is: @238" the full width is: @83"
  2. Yea thats right; anouther deal too good to be true. Anyone know where they grow the replacements? I will update to a one ton, but need the " Idiots Guide to Toyota Axle Replacement". Surely someone has written one; considering the shear number of unfortunates there seem to be. Maybe I'll write one, Get rich, and buy a newer one If anyone knows a shortcut, or an easy modification please pass it on. Hey If you know a hard way( save me the learning curve) I'd take that too. I hate to have to learn the hard way; but since that has been my life long persute,I don't know why I should be surprised.
