  1. Again I'd like to give a big thanks to all that have giving me tons of great info. Got a call today that my toyhome has new airbags, a new isolater, and a new fuel door lock. Will be picking her up tomorrow and once home will schedule an oil change and hoses and belts and a new cabover window (warped and leaking), slowly but surely will be getting her back to where she deserves to be. Wish me luck! Does anyone have pics of what the window would have looked like when in good repair; inside and out? Once she's home will send updates of the bling as installed.
  2. Hello, 57 and proud owner of a '90 Odyssey/Americana for 7 yrs- have been sea to shining sea (east/west) and back again. I'm in the process of taking care of all those things I didn't know needed taking care of...I've learned my lesson I thought I was going to retire and travel forever but had a rude awakening when the recession hit. I will never be separated from my Toy. Want to take her on a north/south and back again next chance I get.
  3. Hi there ChrisinVT, I have a 1990 Odyssey/Americana Santa Fe, ...give it some TLC and and enjoy. Show us what's new.
  4. Yes Linda, the airbags are there but flat as a pancake, taking her in to a new shop tomorrow to be replaced. And wondering if I should add a spring kit like I read about on here earlier today to raise the back end to avoid scraping. As well as a lesson on maintaining them for sure. Tires are good, front brakes are at 60% and rear are a bit better. They took out the alternator and tested it and it's good so wondering if maybe I have a short that's pulling power. Thanks again for all the input and help in getting my Lil Gypsy back to where she should be...on the road Ren/LilGpsy
  5. Thank you for all this great info, I just spoke with Les Schwab and they indicated the alternator is not recharging at the right rate so they're going to refer me to a place that can help,... when I had the alternator replaced I came on here and someone said something about the 'isolator' may need to be replaced when I gave pretty must the same symptoms. Any feedback on this? The regular engine maintenance, belts and hoses has already been scheduled and the info about the airbags is news to me, and Les Schwab said they can't even fill them for me so they are referring me to another shop for that too. This site rocks! Thank you all again. Ren/LilGpsy
  6. The alternator was replaced just before it was parked....and at a hefty fee of over $600. You've given me a good starting point. She's having a suspension check and am sure the shop will look at the airbags. I didn't realize my rig had airbags until I was reading through posts here. Thanks bunches for your input. Ren/LilGpsy
  7. I have a 1990 Odyssey Santa Fe with about 73K miles. She's been sitting in my driveway for over 3 years with a battery problem and I replaced both the engine and coach batteries yesterday. She started up immediately so no engine problems...that I can tell, anyway. When I started her up, the battery light and brake lights stayed on. I have taken her to Les Schwab (franchise tire, etc shop) for a free tire and suspension check up-will probably get new tires all around. What I'd like is a checklist of DIY type things I should do before I take her out on a short trip to get back into the swing of driving and maintaining her. I must admit she's been neglected, but have a few extra $'s to get her back into tip top shape, with your help. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rennie-Lil Gpsy
  8. How do I determine how old my tank is?
  9. Hello again Toy Pals, I have a 1990 Americana/Odyssey-Santa Fe, presently in Carson City. I've had her since 2006 and have traveled sea to shining sea and back again. With my Lil Gypsy I'll never be homeless She's been neglected lately and am in the process of shelling out large amounts of TLC at present. I may be posting some questions and requests for some suggestions on what to do to get her back into tip top shape. Thank you all for sharing!
  10. Hello Dennis...I hope you get this post. I, too have a similar model and didn't receive any back up info on anything. I got a quick lesson on the very basic operation of things and was handed the keys. Please let me know where you find any of the info related to this particular model. I'd grately appreciate it! Thanks, Rennie/lilgpsy
