  1. eternabond has a proven track record...peel and seal might be good but could not find reviews on it.. Guess you can try it and report back to us!!!
  2. what the heck is that thing over the dinette table??...would love to have a 4 wheel drive and the body looks great. They ARE rare and sell for big bucks.
  3. Got a Realtree printed panel and attached a piece of fleece to its back for better light darkening and heat retention. They make some nice ones.
  4. Able...tanks dont AGE out..... if not rusted bad, they can be checked and recertified....my tank is 26 years old. Had some light rust on it so I sanded and painted it.
  5. I am thinking about getting seat covers and dont know what to order. Do I get the 50/50 bucket that the pickup has or the 4runner model that has a console between seats (and just not use the console cover?? I dont know if the 50,50 buckets are wider than the 4runner bucket. Anyone know??
  6. TG and Joe....thanks...the splatter guard I believe is plexiglass (was there when I bought it, I just reshaped it to the shape u see)....was made obscure by light sanding. Slides into U channel top and bottom.
  7. Thanks Jim... the counter surface is a sink cover I made from a piece of 1/4 inch HDPE... it is removable to access sink, or remove the bowl for small opening access. I showed the cover in a post "covered sink for counter space" a while back.
  8. Ok...this is what I've done to Yoda inside over the last few years. New mini blinds, new curtains in cabover, new mattress and topper, new upholstery foam and fabric ,covered valances to match, removed flip sofa and made lounger, new fleece on lounger wedges, new toilet, covered kitchen sink for removable counter space, new backsplash, painted ceiling, mounted dinette table permanently to wall, installed LEDs in all fixtures, new carpet and stuff I can't remember right now! Here's a few pics.
  9. hmmmmmmm....I wonder if folks that see my kayak on my roof and bicycle on the back are impressed too??
  10. Way too WHITE inside for me.....couldn't afford it anyway!!
  11. Old carpet was 26 years old, flattened down to nothing, and a solid color that showed everything that was on it. It seems most here pulled out carpet for wood or tiles, bit I like carpet...just seems warmer to me. Can't tell by pictures, but it is a very thick, dense carpet that would have cost at least $25 a sq. yard if ordered. I found this as a remnant at a carpet shop for $30 for a 8x9 foot piece. I have enough left over to redo the bathroom twice or the kitchen area if need be. I cut 3 replacement step pieces also as it will get the most dirt and will be easy to replace.
  12. My airbags with 60# in them made the ride horrible jarring!...dropping it down to 35# made a huge difference.
  13. I have one like Linda posted...fits in bathroom closet, extends up past roof making it easy to get on roof, is easier to climb than the straight-up mounted ladders, is WAY steadier than a step ladder...I use mine to put our kayaks on the roof.
  14. remove the cabover mattress and check for soft areas...use your knuckle and tap all around all the edges...a sharp RAP sound is what you want to hear, as a dull THUD sound is a water damaged area! Tap Check the underneath to see how rusted it is. It is a Maine RV and if used in snow it may be badly rusted.
  15. I would use a piece of polycarbonate (lexan) ... they say it is 200X stronger than glass.
  16. Or you can buy a third member from east coast and do it yourself http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-16587519-toyota-8-4-cylinder-3rd.html
  17. I use a buddy heater while awake...on low it keeps it comfortable at 30 degrees outside...at night I climb into a good sleeping bag and use no heat. I have a switch by the bed to turn the furnace on for 10 minutes in the morning, then get up and dressed and put the buddy heater on.
  18. Try lowering the pressure in your airbags!...when I bought my seabreeze, the owner had 60# in the airbags and every bump in the road jarred your teeth!...lowering the pressure to 30# made a big difference...and least on mine.
  19. You may get more answers from folks with BIG rigs at rv.net...folks here have lil 21' and smaller ones!
  20. I made a 42"x48" enclosed trailer on a harbor freight type trailer...worked OK, but was horrible to back that small thing up even when you could see it!! They say the shorter a trailer is the harder it is to back up...I believe it!!
  21. Go to the RV.NET forum...they talk about them a lot.
  22. Haven't tried it yet but thinking about putting some black 2" wide on top of window frames, 3/4"on frame and 1 1/4" above...if a window frame is going to leak it will most likely be the top.
