  2. Linda, I am having trouble locating a tab for the "Files" section in this forum, to find the Dolphin manual you mentioned.

MONDAY - Oct 16th 9:00a -10:30a - “How-to" Session about Toyota RVs for anyone (new to RVing or otherwise), to answer questions about RV operation or maintenance or anything else. 5. Very nice V-6 Toyota Sunrader for sale in Illinois If you are looking to buy a Sunrader RV, or are wanting to upgrade from your current RV to one that doesn’t need any fixing, here is a link to the ad for an intentionally-restored one in Illinois. This Sunrader is rare because it not only has a more powerful V-6 engine, it also has a rare 5-speed manual transmission for more nuance of control and better gas mileage. Even though most folks in this group already have an RV of their own, if you have friends who are looking to buy, this one is NOT a project — unlike most of them that are advertised these days. Everything on this RV has already been tested and fixed. Whoever gets it should not have any of the common issues that often come with other Toyota RVs that are for sale. This RV is definitely way above average. To see 94 photos, read more details, and see the price, click this link and scroll to where it says “Read More” to view the entire description. You can reply with your level of interest and give your phone number through the form within the ad. However this ad is getting lots views from wannabe buyers, so phone inquiries are given priority over online queries. Now here is the link: https://www.rvt.com/rvdetail.php?id=10945719 e
  6. All the details are right there in the link in the original post if you click/tap on it. We all have had a great time at this Rally for the last 5 days, and the last two Toyota RVs are just pulling out now. Sorry you missed the several previous posts. There will be another Mid-West Rally next Fall, so perhaps you can join it then.

Tika and Tom, Rally coordinators Now here is the complete invitation - please study it carefully as it will answer most all of your questions: - - - - - - - - - Announcing the 15th annual Fall Mid-West Toyota RV Rally. This year it will be held at The Sandwich Fair (DeKalb County Fair) in the town of Sandwich, Illinois (one hour west of Chicago). This Rally location is a reasonable drive for most Mid-West folks. If that is you, consider yourself invited. Here’s this description from the Fair’s website: "HOW IS THE SANDWICH FAIR DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FAIRS? The grounds are unusually beautiful with many old trees lining the walkways. It has a country/community feel with decorations, and the buildings are historic and attractive. It has the charm of a smaller fair, but also has much of what a large fair has to offer." The Rally dates are Thursday, September 9 through Sunday, September 12 — three nights. You are also welcome to stay a day longer to Monday, September 13th, for a 4th night if you like. Reservations are now being taken by phone; this is not a rally where you can just show up. The deadline for the early-bird rate is Sunday, August 22. The RV Park where we will be staying is actually part of the fairgrounds. (See the website pages and the map links below.) This campground will be full of fair-goers and vendors, but the staff is reserving one particular section for our group. The RV Park has Wi-Fi signal, and porta-potties, and showers available (but not exactly close by). The address is: 800 W. Lisbon Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. Please don’t post or share the location without also saying that advance reservations are required. The cost per night for a campsite with electricity is $30 (including tax), plus there is a one-time “rally participation fee” of $8 to cover the costs of putting on the Rally. Free use of the dump station is included. Sites with hook-ups for water are limited, so if you don’t think you get by with using just your onboard water, let us know in advance, and bring a y-connector for splitting a water faucet to attach two hoses. PLEASE NOTE: We also each need to bring a 30-amp-to-15-amp adapter (RV plug to household plug), and a heavy-duty RV extension cord if possible, to be able to access the power outlets on the electric hook-up posts. Now here is the Rally Schedule: Thursday evening at 6:30p we will have a get-acquainted “Community Meal” rather than a potluck. This means everybody brings their own dinner, but we'll all eat together. We will also light a campfire afterwards. The RV Park has requested that we use “presto logs” rather than firewood if possible, so please bring some if you can. Friday morning starting at 9:30a we will have "Open House" for those that want to tour each other's RVs, and see what owners have done to personalize them. This usually lasts for 2-3 hours and is always a highlight of our Rallies. Afternoons each day are the time for visiting the Fair. Regular adult admission is $10 per day. Children age 6-12 are $6; age 5 and under are free. Thursday is ‘Senior Day’ - Fair-goers age 55 and over are admitted for $6 before 5pm. Friday is ‘Bargain Day’ - Everyone is admitted for $6 before 5pm. Sunday - Everyone is admitted for $6 after 3pm. There is a rule that dogs are not admitted at any time, except for service dogs. However dogs are welcome at the RV Park. The Fair has amusement rides and games, agricultural and livestock exhibits, vendors, roving entertainers, Lumberjack shows, as well as many scheduled performers (hammered dulcimer and others). See the link below to the Fair Schedule. Friday evening at 6:30p will have a true Potluck Dinner. Bring a dish to share (and your own table service) -- we eat whatever food shows up. A campfire will again follow. Saturday morning from 10:00a to 12:00p we will gather for a "How-to" Session about Toyota RVs for anyone (new to RVing or otherwise), to answer questions about RV operation or maintenance or anything else. Especially if you have been RVing for a while, come to share your expertise with others. Saturday evening you can eat dinner on your own at the Fair, or come back to join those in the RV park for another Community Meal, where we will probably bring leftovers from the potluck! Another campfire will follow. At 12:00p Sunday we will line up our RVs after check-out to drive in a caravan about 9 miles to a nearby Pancake Restaurant for a group lunch. (We’ll order and pay separately for our food.) Click the link below to see the facebook page for the “Exquisite Skillet Pancake House.” Their extensive menu includes more than just breakfast items. The address is 1180 W US highway 34, Plano, IL 60545. After lunch on Sunday we will say our goodbyes to those who are leaving until next year. Those who want more “Fair Time” can return to the Fair to see the Auto Show that goes until 4:00p, and even stay an additional night. Alternately those who like antiques can go to the “Olde Timers Antique Centre” in downtown Sandwich. If all this sounds like lots of fun, please call us (not the RV Park) to say you want to be put on the list of attendees. Then send us a payment (PayPal or check) for the number of nights you will be camping with us (3 or 4). (We will give you the payment address when you call to reserve.) We will be collecting payments in advance from everyone, and then paying for our group all at once. The total payment for 3 days of camping (with electricity) is $98, including the rally participation fee. Add another $30 if you want to stay until Monday, as likely several people will (= $128 total). The reservation deadline for early-bird reservations is Sunday, August 22. After that there is an additional late-registration fee of $10. Cancellation Policy: Refunds are available if another Toyota RVer takes over your campsite after you cancel. As usual we expect about twenty Toyota RVs. We can only take that number of RVs and that’s it. I also have been wondering about his absence. I hope he knows that there are lots in the Toyota RV community that appreciate his contributions to the collective wisdom.
  14. Stay well everybody and wash your hands -- and also remember to disinfect the steering wheels of your vehicles! - - - - - - - - - Tips from the CDC Website: The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. 1) Take steps to protect yourself Clean your hands often Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact Avoid close contact with people who are sick Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. 2) Take steps to protect others Stay home if you’re sick Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care. Learn what to do if you are sick. Cover coughs and sneezes Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the trash. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Wear a facemask if you are sick If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers. Clean and disinfect Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection. To disinfect: Most common EPA-registered household disinfectants will work. Use disinfectants appropriate for the surface. Options include: Diluting your household bleach. To make a bleach solution, mix: 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water OR 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted. Alcohol solutions. Ensure solution has at least 70% alcohol. Other common EPA-registered household disinfectants. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products (e.g., concentration, application method and contact time, etc.). If everyone follows these steps, we can conquer this virus much sooner! SPREAD THE WORD -- PLEASE SHARE! We want all our members and friends to be safe.
  15. This is the last call for registrations for the Toyota RV Rally in Quartzsite, AZ. It starts in one week on Jan. 17th. We still have a couple of spots open, due to cancellations. PLEASE read the ENTIRE announcement first, and then call if you would like to register to be put on the list. It’s gonna be fun! Tika 626-798-4510
  16. Darrel, my phone is working fine and has been, so I don't know what the problem is. Here again is the number to call to register - 626-798-4510. Try calling again. Tika
  17. FREE ALTERNATIVE TO ANNUAL QUARTZSITE TOYOTA RV RALLY. For those folks who would prefer to camp for free in the desert, there is also the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous, with camping areas all around the outskirts of the town of Quartzsite. The RTR has all types of RVing folks, not just Toyota RVs, (perhaps 10,000 people in total). This gathering is held at the exact same time as the annual Toyota RV Rally. (The Women’s RTR is Jan 14-17, and the RTR for everyone is Jan 18-27, 2020.) The RTR will be holding its organized events (classes, etc.) during the day at the La Paz County Fairgrounds, north of Quartzsite. Overnight camping will be scattered around the Quartzsite area in various sections on BLM land (free), where similarly-minded folks with RTR stickers are going to be camping together. Our Annual Toyota RV Rally at the RV Park in central Quartzsite has been going on for 14 years, and the popularity is increasing. We already have quite a few registrations this year from folks who are previous attendees, and it will likely sell out. Therefore we'd like to suggest that perhaps some other Toyota RVers might want to organize a free Boondocking Quartzsite Toyota RV Rally as a part of the larger Rubber Tramp Rendezvous. It would mean picking another area somewhere else on the free BLM land where there is plenty of room, and getting the word out to other Toyota RVers about the location and dates to meet up. Those who are interested in a free alternative, please speak up and put something together. See the video below for complete RTR 2020 info:
  18. TOYOTA RV RALLY in Quartzsite, AZ - Jan. 17- 20, 2020 The 14th Annual Toyota RV Rally is coming up in Quartzsite, Arizona. The town is located on Interstate 10, 20 miles east of the Colorado River (border with California). Registrations are now being taken (BY PHONE ONLY). Unlike other rally groups in Quartzsite, this is NOT AN EVENT THAT YOU CAN JUST SHOW UP AT. You must call and pay in advance to be on the official list of folks who will have a campsite at the RV Park. Claiming online that you are attending does NOT mean you have made a legitimate reservation. The total for attending the 4-day Rally will be $56, or more, if you are staying longer than 4 nights at the RV Park. PLEASE read through this entire description before calling or posting questions. The dates are Friday, January 17 to Monday, January 20, 2020. This is during the first weekend of the huge RV Show which is held there every year. A good many of the folks in our group will be arriving early on Thursday the 16th, and some stay for the entire 10-day show. Please read this invitation in its entirety if you are interested, as it contains a lot of very important information. Included below are some photos of our previous Quartzsite Rallies. The annual RV Show in Quartzsite is a really fun event with free admission. A giant show tent is erected with hundreds of vendors that cater to RVers. In addition the rest of the town turns into one giant swap meet. There are specific sections for antiques, gems & minerals, and new merchandise. The PowWow Gem and Mineral Show is also the same weekend this year. Plus there are multiple other vendors in every possible corner and location. If you like to shop for bargains, bring lots of spending money. We will be camping together at an RV park relatively close to the show grounds. Where we camp is close enough to walk to it; that way we don't have to break camp each day to drive to the show. In fact, the RVers coming to it from outlying areas have to park even farther away than where this RV Park is. (The distance is only .2 miles to the “Big Tent.”) In addition to the RV Show and Swap Meets, this is a great chance to meet other Toyota RVers, and see what they have done to personalize their "Toyhouses." We will have an informal "Open House" on Saturday morning when folks can visit each other's vehicles and see the various ingenious things that owners have done to make them more livable and unique. This is always a highlight of our Rallies. We're expecting about 30 Toyota RVs again this year. The RV Park's proprietors do their best to help us save enough space for all our vehicles. The discounted fee for a 24-hour parking/camping spot is only $9 per day. (One could easily spend a good percentage of that on gas each day just driving around to alternately find a parking spot in town and then a camping site out in the desert.) In addition there is a one-time registration fee of $20 to participate in the Rally and to have us save you a camping spot with our group close to the events. Please make your reservation by phone, rather than email. When you call to confirm you are coming, you will get the specific location of exactly where to find us among the tens of thousands of RVers that will be there. We did say it will be a HUGE event, right? On both Saturday and Sunday nights about 6pm we will have a true Potluck Dinner in the 20'x30' party tent we will be erecting (weather permitting). We eat whatever food shows up. For those who have arrived by Friday evening, we’ll have what we call a Community Meal for anyone who wants — meaning you bring your own dinner, but we can all eat together. Besides some food to share for the potlucks, please also bring your lawn chair, and some firewood for the campfires we'll have every evening. Where we will be camping we will not have hook-ups. (This is because none of the RV parks with hook-ups will take such a large group reservation that weekend without full pre-payment way in advance.) Therefore it is best to arrive with your tanks full of water and propane. Generators are allowed. Water from a faucet and toilets are near the park entrance, and a dump station is at the rear. Showers, and propane are available within driving distance for a fee. The weather will be moderate during the day (60s-70s) and cool at night (40s), and possibly windy. We hope we won't get any really nasty rains or winds like we had a few years ago. Bikes and/or scooters are great to have to get around in this town. Pets are welcome, but large dogs are discouraged in the main show tent. WiFi internet service is not available from the RV Park, but it is available at various restaurants /fast food /truck stops in town. Cell phone service is adequate for most carriers, but expect personal hot-spots to run VERY slowly due to the quantity of RVers in the area. Free Internet computers are available at the Library for those who need a reliable internet connection for business. Broadcast TV reception is practically non-existent, and as we said, you can expect streaming connections to be quite frustrating. As an alternative, unless you have satellite TV, the local Quartzsite Radio station can be delightfully entertaining. If you have a small fold-up picnic table, please bring it with you for use in our party tent. We specifically want the fold-up tables that seat four, and carry like a suitcase when the seats are collapsed inside. A reminder for those coming from the Pacific Time Zone, that Arizona time is one hour later. You’ll need to advance your clocks when you come east across the border. To register to have a parking/camping spot in the RV Park with our group when you arrive, please call (rather than email). Let us know which nights you will be coming, and how many folks and pets will be coming with you. As we said, for this Rally, it doesn't work to just show up. You can send us the $20 registration fee via PayPal or check. Please also include your cell phone number. When we get your payment, we will put you on the list, and be sure you've gotten the specific directions for how to find us. Upon arrival, don't be surprised to find that the RV Park is full of bus-sized RVs which is why, in this first-come/first-served RV park, it takes some effort to "defend our turf." The modest $20 registration fee helps to cover the costs of putting on this multi-day Rally, and insures a camping spot will be saved for you at our location close to all the events. The daily fee of $9 for parking or camping is to be paid to the proprietors of the RV Park at their office trailer when you arrive, for each day you will be staying or visiting. (Honor System, please.) To encourage folks to reserve soon, the $20 Early-Bird price is for registrations paid for before December 31st. If you wait until the last 2 weeks, the registration fee will be $25 — that is, IF spots are still available. If you have never attended a Rally before, don't be shy — we always have several first-time folks. This is a great way to meet other Toyota RVers. PLEASE NOTE: In order to participate in this Rally with the group, and camp inside the special section where we will be, YOU MUST REGISTER FOR A SPOT IN ADVANCE. Due to the increasing popularity of this Rally, we expect that this year we will have to put a limit on the number of folks we can accommodate! And as always, we are only going to rope off and hold camping spots for those that have registered by phone (not emailed) and paid ahead of time. If you don't want to be disappointed this year by hearing that the Rally is already full, please CALL SOON. CALL us at 626-798-4510 to put your name on the list. Call any day 11a - 9p Pacific time. Leave a message if you get the voicemail for our business (health center), and we will call you back. Yes, it's gonna be fun!
