  1. Perhaps we could get it added to the Forum's Files. And be sure to let us know how you solve your spark plug & air filter quest.
  2. You might find a bit of help here:- http://cabbieland.byethost9.com/Sea-Breeze-Rear-Box.html
  3. I just looked at the '79 brochure and there's no sign of a spare mounted on the rear. So, that leaves underneath!
  4. I'd try contacting Generac. They might have some info. And I guess draining the oil and putting in fresh to the same level as now (plus maybe a little more) would be better than nothing. It's odd that the Champion spark plug doesn't show up anywhere. I noticed that on one of those Forums a guy was offering to email a Pdf of the manual.
  5. It looks like the Continental Vanco 2s might (theoretically) provide a winning combination for 4x4 owners who install the 1-Ton rear axle with 14" wheels. 185R14 ---> 808tpm. 195/70R15 ---> 808tpm. So no 'wind up'. Unfortunately not a very aggressive looking tread pattern for serious off-roading. http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/ca/en/continental/automobile/themes/va\ n_tires/summer/hidden/datasheet-Vanco%202_en.pdf Yokohama Y356 195/75R14 also are listed @ 808tpm. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Y356
  6. Might be the same layout as a Dolphin 500, but the stripes are wrong and as far as I know Dolphin (and most others) always marked their name across the front and on both sides. This one is strange with none! This one also has a rather unique side skirt on the passenger side where it changes level. Most are straight across.
  7. It seems you might have a 'Generac model 8699-1. http://www.powerequipmentforum.com/forum/9-generator-forum/237-dometic-gen-w-onan-engine.html http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=209388 http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48647 My guess is that there is no dipstick. Rather you remove the fill plug and check the level there. Full to bottom of threads? Top? Middle?
  8. I agree, but it might not be a fuel injection pump. If you're using one of the 'cube' electronic pumps, they're generally available in 2 different pressure ratings. One's 1-3psi, the other 4-6psi (generally). I'd check what you've got installed and try to find out what pressure you need. Do you have the stock carb or a replacement Weber?
  9. I never could find a table on the net, so I asked Hankook the following question:- "I'm looking for Load/Inflation Tables for Hankook RA08 tires in 185R14 size." This is the reply I got:- Thanks for the question. I was able to come across a load chart in a metric format. You'll just have to convert it for your needs. Inflation (kPa) 180 200 220 240 260 280 300 325 350 375 400 425 450 Single (kg)...... 490 520 550 580 610 635 665 695 725 755 785 810 840 Dual (kg)........ 470 500 525 555 580 605 630 660 690 720 745 775 800 Sincerely, Nicholas T. Coordinator Quality & Service Team Hankook Tire America Corp. 1450 Valley Rd , Wayne , NJ 07470 Tel : 1-800-HANKOOK (426-5665) X 616 Fax : 973.633.9980 email : nicholast@hankooktireusa.com Note: These numbers only go as high as 1600lb @ 50psi which corresponds to a Load Range C tire. I've sent Nicholas an email to see if he can find numbers for Load Range D. EDIT: I've added in BOLD the numbers sent by Nicholas for Load Range D. RA08_Catalog.pdf
  10. Speaking from my own inexperience , I can't see that 5-speed's 0.85:1 O/D wouldn't be at least as useable as the automatic's 0.70:1 O/D. Without the worry of temperature build-up from the non-locking torque converter.
  11. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv_parts_rv_accessories.htm
  12. Some early 'homes had the 'house' battery mounted under the hood.
  13. Hankook offers the RA08 in the 195R14 Load Range D which is rated at 2094lb each. The Yokohama Y356 195/70R14 Load Range D is only 1600lb. RA08_Catalog.pdf
  14. I doubt you actually needed the extra capacity. The 185R14 is rated at 1764lb/tire (dual application). 4 x 1764 = 7056lb. So you'd even be good when doing wheelies! Difference in gearing is ~2.5%.
  15. A 'Rule of Thumb' (hand?) is that if you can keep your hand on it, the temperature is ~140F.
  16. You're looking at rebuilding the cab-over/bunk area. I suspect that once the bunk mattress is removed, you'll see lots of evidence of water damage inside.
  17. Does 'EXTERIOR NEEDS SOME MINOR REPAIRS' sound accurate?
  18. Depending on what 'EXTERIOR NEEDS SOME MINOR REPAIRS' ends up meaning, that CL 'home would be worth looking at. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/rvs/2984717755.html The Odyssey is newer, bigger and more powerful. But potentially more expensive to operate as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-Toyota-Odyssey-Motorhome-?cmd=ViewItem&item=320900058447
  19. I only see one gasket shown in the FSM. Is this the one you're asking about? http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/suspensionandaxle/34reara.pdf
  20. I'm quite familiar with Watts Law. I'm asking where '5.71A', '12V' and '130W' appear together.
  21. Way back in my impoverished student days we used to make gaskets out of old Corn Flakes boxes.
