  1. Thank you for the diagram, I ultimately solved the problem by reseraching online. There is a venturi hole on the nut that holds the pilot light under the anode. Once I cleaned this venturi/breather hole it corrected the problem and returned to the small blue pilot flame needed. Thanks again. Ken
  2. Hi all, I need some help please? My pilot light on my atwood water heater is too big, it used to have a small blue flame and now has a 2 inch yellow flame that is charring the metal anode above it. Is there a way to adjust the pilot? I have searched the manual and it says the pilot light is preset and does not show adjsutment. I have 92 toy winnebago. Any advice owuld be great, thank you.
  3. This weekend our LP gas detector chirped like a bird for about 2 seconds. This happened twice over the weekend. It never went off and the coach battery is fully charged, could this be a leak or just an old LP detector that needs replacing? Where is the best place to buy one? Thanks.
  4. I just did my first oil change on this rig and the manual states 4.3 qts with oil filter, this is a 1992 V6. I put 4.5 qts and it barely registered on the low side of the dipstick, I then put the rest in for a total of 5qts and after 1 hour it read just over low on the dipstick. Is this right? Thank you so much for your input. On the good side, I did the oil change with 10w30 full synthetic Mobil1 and it purrs like a kitten......
  5. I live in San Diego and we are driving to Wisconsin next month, maybe we will cross paths. When you get to San Diego stay at Campland by the Bay, very nice. Also indulge in the great Mexican food here, the smaller taco shops are the best, eat Burgers in Ocean Beach at Hodad's, and enjoy Balboa Park. Any beach camping you can get at San Elijo, Carlsbad State Beach are awesome. I wish you a very safe trip.
  6. I have the Kohler generator in my 92 Winnie and after a carb cleaning and oil change with synthetic it roars like a lion. My Governor does not work at all so I adjusted the throttle permanently just high enough to run the AC and Microwave. I usually camp with full hook ups but the few times we have pulled over for lunch and need some AC and the Microwave it has worked very well. I called Kohler and they said very few of these Kohlers are still running and to enoy it as is, they also mentioned how very loud they are and they are right.
  7. Make sure it is welded to the frame, my aluminum sheet metal bumper is held on with 4 bolts and would bend in the middle were I too stand my 240lb. frame on it. Good luck.
  8. nothing behind the drawer, that was the first thing I checked. I assume years of shutting the drawer and driving vibration may have made the gfi fall apart internally an short out, it is weird that only one prong on the gfi was smoking so maybe it just disinigrated.
  9. This is a 1992 Winnebago Spirit Itasca by the way
  10. I closed the drawer next to the double outlet under the sink and then the outlet started buzzing loudly and smoke came out of only one of the two 3-prong plugs, luckily it has a reset button that shut off. When I push the reset button the microwave shuts off. Is this as easy as putting a new GFI outlet in or do you guys think there is a bigger issue? Thank you for the input.
  11. Agua Caliente is an awesome campground, great hiking and sunsets, the stars are very vivid, the indoor hot pool is great. We have taken "Harvey the RV" there 3 times since November and our friends and kids love it. The caravan area is unmatched with 4 charcoal grills, private half moon firepit, private huge gazebo with night lights and parking for probably 20+ Toyota RV's, and the dump is only 200 yards from the caravan area. We camped with 10 families last month in the caravan area and we played washers and potlucked all weekend in the huge gazebo area, we played cards and music, it was great. Will have to see if I can get out for the rally!
  12. I found that due to the rarity and dependability of the Toyota RV's the NADA pricing can be low as much as 40% because it does not put a value on rarity. I have seen some 90-93 Toy RV's valued at $8,000 selling for $15,000. Good luck.
  13. The way our Toy RV "Harvey" as he is named is parked is slanted by about 4 degrees, I am jealous of anyone with flat RV parking. But anyway I pulled Harvey onto the grass yesterday where it is level and kicked on the fridge and it froze water in about 1 hour and works great, lucky me. My wife and I researched these great Toyota RV's for 14 months before we got lucky and bought this 92 Winnie Spirit from the original owner who took super care of it. Now I just need to be sure to take great care of it too. Thanks for all you input.
  14. My 92 Toyota Winnebago was parked in my steep driveway for two weeks with the fridge left on electric. Anyone think I may have ruined the fridge?? I only noticed because I removed the back panel behind the fridge to route coaxial cable and noticed the unit was warm, opened the fridge, turned it off and sopped up some water in the freezer, the whole fridge was warm. It will be a while before I have some place level to park and check the fridge.
  15. I always use Chevron just because they add a cleaner to their gas, I know it is just cheaper to buy the cleaner yourself but I guess I am lazy. I have used added cleaners in the past in different vehicles and have never seen any huge differences in performance.
