Thanks for the feedback. I shall investigate all the areas you both have mentioned yet this month and let you know my progress or culprit. Hopeful it is a minor fix like a bad connection. BUT Does replacing the alternator belt or tightening it require intense labor, tight maneuvering, and is it a difficult repair? Any do's or do not's in regards to tackling the alternator if need be? Kudos to you all.

I have a 1991 Toyota dolphin. Engine V6 3VZ -E 59,350 miles Has been running fine but after a longer drive, stopped for gas, turned off engine, filled up, then when attempting to restart, it would not turn over. Just a feeble attempt then nothing. Then only the click of the starter. With a jump it started asap and off I went. Once home tested battery, it read 12.4 but since it was old replaced it with a brand new one with good cranking power. Started fine in driveway testing it out several days. Next major trip started up fine, got to camp ground, started fine after a day of rest, then again returning home after using a full tank of gas stopped to refill, same issue, turned key and nothing. No attempts to crank, just DEAD when trying to start. Attached a jump start charger and cranked over asap. now back home. Car has rested a day, Checked Battery amp and it reads 14.5 and she started up fine...so appears battery is holding her charge. that is not draining. Does not appear the alternator is at fault unless YOU have thoughts here, the starter does not chatter when turing the key like it is going bad? Or to indicate a hot spot in the starter....so I am stumped? Seems when she runs for a length and gets hot then when turned off it won't fire back up...needing some extra boost to turn over OR time to cool down perhaps but not sure how long or if that is the case. Any suggestions as to where to problem solve this would be appreciated? Had a VW bus years back that when hot the starter locked up so had to do the tapping trick with a hammer underneath to get er started but this does not appear to be the same as the starter chattered on turning the key. Anyone else have this problem or can give me advice as how to trouble shoot this? I am a novice with engine stuff but am learning......thanks.

I have a 92 Toyota Dolphin which has had a new rubber roof put on 2 years ago.. all was well but I now have noticed after getting it ready after sitting for the winter (outside) that my driver side door's clearance actually skims the underside of the overhanging bed.....so something has dropped...I can still get out but fear that perhaps at some point I may not be able to open my door or do some major scraping. The passenger side has a good clearance of about 1 1/4". Not sure what has happened. I did have the side opened up to the floor to replace some nasty water damage under the sofa just behing the drivers seat...but not sure IF that caused the problem...Has this happened to anyone else and what are if any ways to fix this droop by raising it OR as least stopping it from any further sagging? When looking at it from the front you can see a very slight deviation. Can I put something under the plastic molding which sits on the cab ceiling? Do I have to jack it up somehow? Any help appreciated as this female wants to get back on the road. Thanks

Have just ordered from the site you gave...thanks for the extra help as I was looking at the full light package and not just the lens....so you got me to the right part & page...can I assume then if I need front light or lens replacements I should use the Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 1974~1983 as my reference to find parts? Your rig looks nice from the front at least...would love to see more & keep you as a reference. This is a great site.

Thanks Andrew for the link...my 91 light looks like the one you posted BUT when I go to the site you indicated I am confused as which one it the one I need. They have all assorted dates listed and I am not sure which one I need to purchase? They all look identical from the pics....any help with the correct model would help so I don't order the wrong one. I need help in finding a replacement Tail light lens drivers side for my 91 Dolphin. I busted the yellow section of the lens. It seems the lens is all one section of yellow/red/white. I went to toyota dealer and & and my locale RV shop. No luck. Any help with used rv part websites or vintage places to look to replace this would be appreciated. Trying to glue pieces together or use repair tape. Will accept all ideas. Thanks

I have to get new tires for my 91 dolphin and would like more of an all season tire rather that just a summer type ...thinking of going with the Hankook RA08 185R14 as it is an all season 8ply load D and being a former VW camper bus owner they like this tire ...do you have any choices that would or could help with some potential snow...I live in Wisconsin and may need to get out of here with some snow but don't want a winter tire. Cooper has an all season tire SRM II radial LT but I have no reviews on how folks like It appears lots seem to like Yokohomo but that is very difficult to get right now. I can get a Contimential Vanco 2 put the WT is the lowest on this tire. OTher concern is what tire pressure should I run these at. Max is 65 psi but reading lots of areas in regards to psi to run inf rear & front. Want to get a tire purchased & on with some travel..so Coopers at $705 or Hankooks at $650. Thanks for all your great advice with this group.
