  1. Hey All! I am renovating my 91 Rockwood Roamer and wondering what other renovators have chosen to use for the "finished" surface of their interior walls. I am putting 1/4 luan on the outside - touching the fiberglass, then foam. Securing this stuff with construction adhesive. I am not sure what to "top" it off with. Before, someone suggested the luan plywood but I want a clean, sort of contemporary look and I don't think that'd look that good AND there is always the moisture problem with wood. Ditto for regular paneling, even if I COULD find some that looks nice. What have others used? An ad for a toyhome for sale said the walls are "fiberglass fiberboard". Does anyone know what that is and where I could get a look at it? Also, in this renovation I'll be replacing the cabinets. I'll probably have to build them myself since the door is only 20" wide and most prebuilt cabinets wont go through the door but does anyone know of a source for motorhome cabinets? How about at least drawers? Thanks as always! Colleen
  2. Hi, My airbags are not holding air. I am having them looked at on Monday but if they need to be replaced, about how much do they cost? Is it better to get different shocks than the air ones? I had the "regular" shocks replaced last week - what's the difference? I can feel every pebble in the road with the way it is now - probably worse since the new "regular" shocks were put in. I have a '92 Rockwood Roamer. Thanks so much for your continued help! Colleen
  3. Hi all, I am getting to the "skin" stage of the repair of my cabover area. The coach had a foam type covering - paper on both sides and apx 1/4 inch of foam in between - then covered with wallpaper. - Made the walls kind of soft and "give" when pushed on. I'd like to use the foam "board" stuff again (but not the wallpaper...) Does anyone know where you can get that stuff? Any other suggestions for a lightweight, easy to work with material for the walls would be glady considered. I have 1/4 in AC but - heavy, not fire resistant, hard to work with Thanks, Colleen
  4. OK all, After lurking and asking questions, I pulled the trigger on a '92 Rockwood Roamer! I flew out to Ohio, put my money down and bought it - site unseen - only 4 photos and reassurance by the seller - and drove it back to Colorado - 1450 miles with only the only incident being a broken A/C belt - repaired by very nice people in KS for $50 and a severe case of altitude sickness once it reached 8500 ft elevation. Not worried about that - happens to the best of us - sure to be adjusted and back in fine form soon. I think we are going to have alot of fun together. I'll post a photo of her soon! I'm sure to have lots of questions - so thanks for being there and being willing to share your knowledge and experience! Cheers, Colleen
  5. Hello again all, I have found a camper I'm interested in but it is 1200 miles away. I thought I'd just give a shout out to see if anyone has a nice toy for sale in or around Colorado. We would like a 6cyl, has to be auto, probably no older than 87 but newer is better... want to stay under $7000. Thanks, Colleen
  6. Hi all, Thanks for all the great information so far!! The camper I am looking at buying sits very low to the ground. I know most of them do but this one seems like it might even be lower than most I've seen photos of. Could this be a matter of needing new shocks? Struts? suspension....??? Is there any way to get a little more clearance out of these short of trying to find a 4WD? Oh, another quick question... the toy is a 92 with 79K - is it recommended to change the timing belt / water pump at 70K or 100K? Thanks, Colleen
  7. I am looking at a 92 Rockwood Roamer Toyota motorhome. I have not heard of this coach manufacturer before in all my research. Does anyone know about these? Any info would be helpful. I'm still waiting on photos from the seller but the floorplan SOUNDS like an Odyssey?
