  1. WME The current floorplan isn't gonna work for me, too much clutter I don't need. I already have a Lance truck camper with all the normal appliances for hauling the family around. This things gonna be a lightweight, easy to clean, low/no maintenance glorified tent. Basically something specifically for the above mentioned activities. I want options I would never do to the other rig like rip out the cabinets and replace em with rod racks, fillet station instead of a sink and outdoor freshwater washdown to rinse down my gear. Plus, with the way that back wall opens I'd like to take advantage of it and keep the entry open back there for toyhaulin. Basically a Tim Taylor edition camper for a waterman. TG Yup that was it. Had to haul a flatbed trailer from san jose to napa to get it. The floor pretty much fell off when we transfered it off the old truck. Nerve wracking drive home too. I won't be starting the build till later this year but will post em up as I go. A question for Sunrader owners. Most Fiberglass TC's are constructed with an inner and outer skin sandwiched over a foam core. Mine is just a thick fiberglass skin, bottom half of camper has plywood glued to the sides with no real framing and the top has no structural support, its just foam glued to the glass and covered in leather. Does your rig have an inside wood frame? Cored Glass? I want some kind of insulation and structural support so I can combat cold temps and possibly walk on the roof to strap down kayaks. I want to either build an interior frame out of wood or core it with a foam core and laminate over it. Comments?
  2. This is my first post, came accross the site while searching for info on my latest project. I acquired a sunrader fiberglass truck camper shell to transform into a bare necesities man cave to sleep in while ripping up and down the CA coast fishing, spearfishing, abalone diving, surfing, kayaking, mountain biking and whatever other trouble I can find along the way. Right now I'd really just like to see if anyone else owns one of these bad boys so I can bounce some questions off them or see what they've done as far as interior layouts or modifications. Actually, I may be able to have some of my questions answered my Sunrader motorhome owners if you are so inclined to answer. Here's the little junk gem, fresh off a rotting 80's model chevy....well neglected and pretty much useless....right now Gonna start the build later this year so I have some time to plan it all out and start versing myself in the art of fiberglass. These are from Day One. There has been much demo.....complete gutting acutually.
