  1. Hi Derek! Yeah, I tried to get the old fridge out exactly like that and it wasn't even close to fitting. The corner kept hitting. Also, I realized I was in serious danger of ripping the upholstery on the seat since every edge and corner of the old fridge was razor sharp, and I was moving it by myself which I do NOT recommend. I got it out through the coach window after removing the door to the fridge. Maybe it was possible to take it out that way and I just couldn't figure it out. Thanks for the response! -nate
  2. Once I had removed the old and most likely broken dometic fridge from my 1988 Dolphin, I had the idea to replace the duplex receptacle that powers it with one that could use power from the 3000 watt inverter, or the normal connection to the 15 amp service from the main coach circuit. It was very inexpensive, maybe $5 at "home cheapo" for the box, receptacle, screws, romex connectors, etc. I used the original power supply from the old fridge to send power from the inverter to the lower receptacle, and then some standard splicing for the coach circuit on the top one. If you do this make sure to SPLIT both the hot and neutral tabs on the receptacle! The circuits need to be separate. So, this allows a new all electric mini fridge to be put in place that will not have the difficult leveling issues of the 80's fridges, are convenient and cheap to replace, and energy efficient. The size of 32" H X 19"W fits great, the depth can be around 20" but can vary a little bit. The fridge can run constantly while driving or parked as long as there is battery power. However, I must give you this warning. The old fridge may not "fit" through the window, door or wherever you try to take it out. There's no turning back once you decide to mangle your fridge into pieces to get it out, as I did. Make sure to measure the door of your coach before you get a fridge! Mine is 20" wide but they will vary. Please post any comments or questions, this was an easy, cheap project and I'd love to see someone else do it! 3. Thanks for the help everyone! I went to 5 gas stations today and none of them had the dual inflator chucks connected to their pumps. When I asked the employees about it, none of them knew what I was talking about. It's obvious I need to get my own to keep with me so I can inflate at any station. I found this on the Kragen website: http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductDetail....tegoryCode=3474 My local store has it so I'll take a look and see if it works. I'm still not sure if you can connect it to any gas station pump though. Thanks again!
  4. I've had my 1988 Dolphin for a while now, and I am very confused as to why the tire inflation nozzle for the rear outside tires is pointing the wrong way. They are pointing INWARD making it impossible to inflate the tires with a regular gas station pump. Even with my small, very flexible 12V pump I still can't get in there to attach to the nozzle. It looks like the only option is to jack it up and remove the tire to inflate it, which is such a huge hassle it doesn't make sense for that to be a routine thing to have to do. Does anyone know of adapters or special pumps that can do this? They would have to have a "U" shape I would imagine. Or is this an insane design with no option but to remove the tire? Thanks everyone.
  5. Thanks guys! Yes, that's the missing info I needed. I was connecting it to the line that bypasses the pump. Something else that confused me was the guy who sold it to me (his parents in-law owned it) thought the potable line drained the grey water. Very odd that he would think that. Thanks again!
  6. Hello everyone. Great site you guys have here. I just bought my awesome '88 Dolphin and I'm loving it. I'm still trying to figure out the basics. One of the many things I need help with is how to fill the fresh water tank. I've connected it to the hose, cranked it tight and turned on the water. It sounds like it's filling up, but the meter inside stays on empty. I left it running for about 20 minutes last night, and still no fill up. Also I was wondering about the switch that turns the water pump on and off. When do I use this? I assume you turn it on when you need water to come through, but that didn't seem like the case. I know it's simple stuff, but I don't have the owners manual. Any help is appreciated.
