  1. There is a very long post about the brake bias valve.

Basic thing is because its supposed to be a pickup truck and its now sitting level, so the bias valve thinks that the pickup is empty and sends most of the breaking force to the front brakes.

The higher the arm is the more brake is shifted to the rear. A lot of people just unbolt it from the bracket on the axle and bolt/bailing wire the arm to the house floor.

  2. Are the pieces of glass inside small crumbles or large jagged pieces??

Little crumblies mean tempered glass, which is a pia to get in custom sizes. Large jagged pieces mean its been replaced before with window glass.

Check with a glass shop to see if they can get a piece of safety glass. Years ago my local glass shop was able to cut a piece of flat safety glass for my cab over window.

I think it was $115 installed.

If all else fails then cut a piece of lexan, NOT plexiglass

  3. Its a 20 min job to pull the valve cover and see what is happening inside.

The timing chain can be changed without removing the head, done it before, but its a gamble, with all the opinions about interference/ non interference.

Removing the spark plugs and using a bore-scope would be useful

  4. Can't check over the internet, but fuel pump dead, ignitor dead. If either dies the engine stops quickly.

Sorry but there are easy checks if you understand engines. Trying to teach/learn over the net is problematic.

If the engine cranks or turns over, but wont run, Youtube can help a bit with both possibilities, If it won't crank you have multiple layers of problems.

    Sorry not much help

  5. Well thats an interesting place for an O-ring. About the only place it could come from is where the shaft goes into the steering box. Although I would have thought that the shaft would have a seal instead of an O-ring.

If you can remove the steering box, people make a rebuild seal kit for them. A rebuilt box seems to be in the $300-700 range
