  1. Some have used a carpet kit for the extended cabs, its too long but it's easy to cut to an exact fit. Again "some" have reported the standard cab kit is too short to properly fit the cab/house interface.
  2. The living space is way smaller than a 18 ft. Its going to feel real small after a weekend.
  3. OK the pump runs and then stops. NORMALLY with an empty WH tank, the pump will run 2-3 mins to fill it up, most pumps are in the 2-3 gallons per minute range and your tank is most likely 6 gallons. Do the math😁 There is a drain valve and a pressure relief valve on the water heater, turn the pump on and after it stops open one and see if water comes out of the tank. The pump should kick on after a few seconds. If you don't know about the amount of water in the tank, shut the pump off and open both drain valves when it's empty, start over. It takes 20-30 min to heat a full tank of cold water, so give your WH a chance. You should hear the jet engine sound for the entire time. When the heater stops then turn on the closest hot water faucet, let it run for a while. If the tank doesn't have water, the heater shuts off after a minute or so then you have lots of problems and need the manual.
  4. An operating WH sounds like a jet engine when it's running. You should have a DSI WH (direct spark ignition) when you turn the switch you should hear it spark several times then the burner will start. Failure points. There is an overtemp safety thermistor that fails , spider webs in the burner, dirty spark points and the thermocouple/flame detector. If you don't have a factory manual you can download one from the internet.
  5. Can you flip the mounting brackets and mount the bar under the axle. Just some threadall and make the anchor rods longer
  6. Pick and Pull places are being really thin on old trucks. Your model was built from 1972-1978, good luck. While the truck's axle may be less abused, but it would have a zillion miles on it.
  7. On my homemade plan C, I bought a bunch of swimming pool noodles at season close out. I'll use them eventually somewhere. The hitch mount carrier looks like the 2x2 vertical is bolted in. Just get a longer 2x2 drill it, paint it and bolt it in.
  8. Ok if you don't have the truck then all this is vapor ideas. BUT one of the first RV I had had a low floor. The frame kicks were in the cabinets. If you don't mind a narrow walkway maybe will work for you....just find a truck with a wide frame πŸ€ͺ
  9. You should take a close look at the frame of your old truck and the floor of the shell. On many of the Toys, the floor height is determined by the kick up on the frame for the rear axle. If you haven't checked out this thread you should look at the frame carefully.
  10. Plan B...http://vertirack.com/Vertical_Surfboard_Rack.htm
  11. I'm not sure which is better. A. add a skirt to the bottom of the shell after removal from the old floor. B. add a rail around the edge of the new floor, C. cut the middle of the roof out and just raise the center walkway. I think this would be the simplest.
  12. Don't ya just love it when a plan comes together 😁
  13. Put the charged battery back in the truck and see if it will start, do this ASAP so you have time to repair the starter before the trip. Last minute hustle inevitably leads to more problems. If the starter goes click again when you camping, have someone hold the key to start and give the starter solenoid a wack. You can often jar the contacts enough to get a start to get you home.
  14. I can't tell for sure. but there looks to be some space between the cross member and the floor. If there is then drill out the nuts on the hoist and slid new nuts between the floor and xmember. You should be able to get an open end wrench to hold the nut. The just tighten a new bolt.
  15. Start reading..http://www.bestconverter.com/.
  16. The bolt holes are in the cross member. If you look at the photos of the hoist you will see the same offset bolt pattern.
  17. I used 2 Morningstar controllers on my past rigs. Not much in the way of monitor information. But they were totally reliable. I have installed 3 Renogy solar kits on friends RVs. The oldest is 4 years old and has been great. Another had his batteries freeze after something ate one of the charge wires 😲. That's not really a Renogy problem I have also done 2 Windy Nation kits with no problems
  18. Possible problems The u-joint drive flange, the distance between spring perches, shock mounts, e-brake cable. Toyota actually had 3 different "kits" for the RV manufacturers to install
  19. Wow "If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" I guess the reviews don't mean a lot anymore. Just check out Morning Star controllers good warranties. https://www.morningstarcorp.com/ If your isolator is wired correctly the house batteries should have no impact on the truck battery. Most likely your truck battery is not long for the world. Have you hooked up your old controller with the new batteries and just the single Kyocera panel???
  20. Yep Sunradiers do. It can be a real surprise😝 mid shower
