  1. My motorhome all finished is 4080 LBS. with only 2400 on the rear, and thats with a 8' roof lift, full size loveseat, MTN bike, surf board, loaded down and ready to go. Rolling on 5 lug single wheels in rear. 20 mpg
  2. Thanks, I already made a custom paper gasket and used a lot of gas resistant gasket sealant on it, and JP welded a copper line on the inside of the mount so the gas will go in the tank not run up againt gasket to whole time its running. Bad design...
  3. I have 3 on the top of the tank, sender (left side), gas return line (middle leaks), and 2 gas lines (right side) where the pump should be but my tank doesn't have a fuel pump in the tank.
  4. Can I get the 3 gaskets that go on the top of the gas tank? and do I use sealant on the gaskets? or not? Or do you have to just make a "sealant gaskets". And what sealant? The one thats leaks is the middle one and has gas that contacts the gasket the whole time its running. I want to do it right cause I really never want to take out the tank again!
  5. For DMV just make somthing up. I'd say 6,700 lbs. or so...
  6. Yep, thats the one! Its a big tank. It looks very hard to drop it... no, it looks like you can't drop it. Well I'm not sure anymore if the smell is gas. I smelt it then smelt a gas can and it didn't smell the same really. I had two people smell it and they said its not gas more like glue and plywood, and they may be right cause I put down 5/8s plywood over the old floor and sprayed 3M adhesion spray with tin foil on the whole bottom. With it being so hot inside I think it may be of gassing, and the only place that its open to get out is right where the gas filler goes thru the floor. I not really sure what to think?
  7. Anyone have a exploded view of the fuel tank? Mine looks different than the one in my repair book?
  8. What do you seal the sender with? Straight Gasket sealer? And yes the whole tank is rusty on the outside, not to crusty just all rusty. I'm going to cut up the floor to get to the tank, as I have to the way I did the hose connections and tapped the it up...
  9. Well I would say not to do it. The old owner of my 18 sunrader put alot of clothes and stuff way up to the front of the sleeper and drove around with it like that, it cracked the driver side down tube thing thats between the windsheld and door window, it was crushing the thing. Its welded now and he stopped doing it went he found out that it happend. But then again he broke the axle too and towed a bug with a 5 lug. My motorhome was thrashed!
  10. Oh crap... Sounds like something I don't want to do. The tank has not a lot of gas in it, and changed the gas cap with a new one that the old owner had bought. It seems to do it when it the tank gets hot. Never smelt it till 3 weeks ago. I did change the 3 gas lines that go to the motor when I bought the RV 6 months ago at the same time that I changed the gas filler hoses, 2 were cracked and leaking gas, all new now. Is there anymore lines then that? These were all right under the step on passenger side.
  11. Yea man, I did the samething you did but went with a 8'' lift. Its sweet inside now! Yes thats a 18 gauge nail gun, all the paneling is nailed with 18 gauge 5/8s'' nails and glued, paneling is 2.7mm (a little thinner than 1/8'') and will be clear coated. The whole thing is almost done. Almost ready to surf full time! I'll post some pics soon
  12. On my 82 Sunrader the gas filler line and vent line to the gas tank goin to the camper of the motorhome then back down in out the floor to the gas tank. I put new 3'' gas line (or something) and vent line on, new hose clamps, and when it gets hot you can smell gas in the camper? Whats the deal? put another hose clamp on and cranked it down, put new sheet metal plate around the hoses on under the floor and tapped it with metal tape to seal it off, but you can still smell it? How do I fix it? I've made a box over it that will be lined in foil and siliconed down with vents to the outside but the whole gas lines going in side doesn't sound safe! Anyone else have this problem? Can't just be me?
  13. Could not have said it better myself!
  14. Yea bufbooth, just cause you know you want a Sunrader...
  15. Again haha, same here. Need to know what weight/shocks to get, cause I don't think you just use nom toyota pickup shocks.
